You can't deny that HBO's Game of Thrones likes to tie up all its loose ends — no matter how long it takes. Only this week we saw a certain Easter Egg for Rory McCann's the Hound, and now it looks like the show is about to have a Throwback Thursday for Maisie Williams's Arya Stark. We all know that the title sequence for the fantasy epic changes with each season, and the Season 7 update reveals an interesting blast from the past.

Redditor madcommune spotted that the latest version of the #GameofThrones titles included a new stop on the map: the Inn at the Crossroads. It would seem odd to add a location to the show at this late stage without it having some sort of importance, so what does it mean? Well, are we preparing for the return of Ben Hawkey as Hot Pie?

Come and Say 'Pie'

For those who can't remember, the Inn at the Crossroads has served as a pretty major setting for some huge events on the show. It may not be a castle, a fortress, or some exotic island, but the inn has seen its fair share of action. Back in Season 1, the Inn at the Crossroads is where Nymeria wounded Joffrey and also where Catelyn Stark arrested Tyrion Lannister. Reappearing in Season 3, it is where Arya and the Hound were taken by the Brotherhood Without Banners and where Hot Pie decided to stay. In Season 4, the Inn at the Crossroads is where Brienne and Podrick meet the afforementioned Hot Pie and he recounts the tales of Arya Stark.

The inn may haven been absent since, but it is great to know that it hasn't yet been burned down by dragons or overrun by White Walkers. So, the return of the Inn at the Crossroads seemingly points to the return of Hot Pie. Hawkey was also last seen back in Season 4, but he seemed quite content ducking out of the action from the War of the Five Kings.

With Arya Stark on her way to King's Landing (to kill the queen), it would make sense that she pop in to see her old friend and chow down on some wolf-shaped bread. Interestingly, it could also be the Inn at the Crossroads where Arya reunites with her long-lost direwolf, Nymeria. The young Stark girl banished Nymeria at the inn after she had bitten Joffrey, and seven seasons later, it would be poignant if the pair picked up exactly where they'd left off.

We also know that Joe Dempsie's Gendry will be returning this season after his mammoth rowing session, so perhaps he is also hiding out with his old friend at the Inn at the Crossroads. Either way, who really cares? Hot Pie has to be back — prepare for some well-fed characters for the rest of the show's run.
