The Ponies Are Awesome

Why is this show awesome?

I won't deny it. I love My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. The show has good moral values about making friends, such as understanding someone's point of view and not to judge a book by its cover. Believe it or not, the show was made for toddlers and young girls. Teens and adults watch the shows as well. I wasn't sure why I began to watch. As soon as I watched the first episode, I was hooked. The show was different from the early 1980s version, where the beginning of every event the ponies fought a monster a demon or a witch that wanted to make them slaves.

The Fugitive Flowers

The Witches from the Volcano of Gloom.

This new version of my little pony focused more on the "main six" which are made up of two unicorns, two pegasi, and two Earth ponies. Each represents a unique personality and an element of friendship. The six ponies were conquering everyday problems like a reasonable person would, such as friendship problems

Tempest learns giving someone a chance.

a simple misunderstanding.

Don't judge a book by its cover. "The Bridle gossip"

Choosing to live in both places because of separate parents, and both are ok with it.

I was happy to see LBGTQ was shown on MLP

The show uses flash animation, which gives more detail to the show and more movement in some of the background scenes, books, China, and other miscellaneous items. The show pops in every scene, more so than the hand-drawn cells that the show started out within the early 1980s.

Just like the characters on the show, every pony is different sized and has unusual features, and unlike the early 1980s, some ponies cameo famous film scenes from different genres films such as The Big Lebowski and Pulp Fiction only to name a few.

After watching the Documentary Bronies: The Extremely Unexpected Fans of My Little Pony (a brony is an adult male or female that is a fan of the show my little pony), I saw why the main characters and the stories are very relatable to a wide audience. The wide variety of hairstyles, eye color, and the personality of each character is relatable to yourself or someone you know.

My Little Pony has made several films, and they all have a common theme. Usually, a monster from another land wants to kidnap the ponies and steal their happiness or make them mindless slaves. To win against the odds, the ponies sing songs, do a dance, and beat the monster with the magic of a rainbow. When I was growing up, I saw them all; my favorite one is Rescue from Midnight Castle. The two villains Scorpan, a wolf-like creature with wings and Tirek, a demon centaur make an appearance in the new My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. When the film came out in 2017, I was so excited, I went to see it and just like the show it shows that friendship will always have an advantage. The boost to help illustrate that was the main antagonist. Her name was Tempest Shadow; she was the first pony villain who was ultimately tricked into giving up her name and identity "Frizzlepop Berrytwist," in exchange for getting her unicorn horn restored she is designed in a unique way; she is a unicorn with a broken horn. She has a dark purple coat with wild raspberry hair that looks like a mohawk and her eyes are dark blue, and she also has a scar on her right eye. I loved the design of this character because she has a unique story. How she went from a sweet innocent unicorn to a wild and cruel monster. Tempest points out that the main reason she became a villain was when her friends abandoned her because of the loss of her horn and her magic. An explanation of Tempest running away from the lands of Equestria and entering an unknown area which is called the badlands (just the name of it already tells you what it is). Then she joins forces with the monster called The Storm King.

I highly recommend the book, it's called My Little Pony: The Movie Prequel—The Stormy Road to Canterlot. I think I read the book about three times. It was exciting, and I wish some of the events that were in the book could have been in the film. I do hope to see some of the film characters in season eight of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. I know the hippogriffs (a mythical creature that is half pony and half eagle) will be in season eight, I just hope Tempest will appear in a few episodes. In the new season, there will be a new school opened by Princess Twilight Sparkle, who is the main character and is also the princess of Friendship. The students attending will be a mix of other mythical creatures such as the changeling, a dragon, a griffin, and a hippogriff. Different species means new kinds of friends and learning new traditions as well as a better understanding from one another. I can hardly wait!
