“Fly, what the hell do you mean, fly?” asked Ciel, incensed at such a notion.

Louisa looked from Ciel to Sebastian, seeing her cousin’s confused expression, and only then realising that Ciel had no idea of Sebastian’s true form. She rubbed her temples; this was supposed to be the easy bit.

“Well, is someone going to explain?” asked an increasingly agitated Ciel.

“My Lord, as you may have noticed from the aspects of Louisa’s transformation you have seen, she has wings.”

“Yes,” snapped Ciel, “that hadn’t escaped my notice.”

“Well, my Lord, so do I. You have never seen them because it would be bad form for one’s master to see their true form while the contract is in place.”

“Well,” said Ciel, rather haughtily, “be that as it may, having wings and flying from here to Dartmoor are two very different things. Besides, it may have escaped your notice, but I do not have wings!”

“No, my Lord, should you agree to this course of action, which given Louisa’s determination, I would strongly recommend that you do, you would need to be carried by one of us.”

The coach arrived at the manor before Ciel could answer. Sebastian helped Ciel and then Louisa out before opening the front door. Once inside, Ciel looked at Sebastian.

“Can it be done?”

“There is no reason why not my Lord. I am perfectly capable, and Louisa has shown great aptitude in every aspect we have explored,” Sebastian smirked as he spoke, and Louisa felt her cheeks grow warm.

“Seriously, Sebastian, can you keep your mind on the task at hand?” snapped Ciel.

“Yes, my Lord. To answer your question, it can be done.”

“Then I agree, it is the fastest way, and if Louisa is right about Lord Ashley, we cannot permit him time to warn the rest of the Order.” Ciel looked at them both. “When can we be ready to leave?”

"As soon as we have the maps and you are ready my Lord, you may wish to change. Once we arrive, it is probably better that you are not easily recognised as Earl Phantomhive.”

“Yes, you are probably right. I can see to that myself. Sebastian, collect the maps and meet me back here when you are both ready.”

“My Lord, it is probably better that we meet in Louisa’s room unless you want to risk the servants seeing us in our true forms.”

“A fair point, Sebastian.” Ciel looked sternly at Sebastian. “When this current crisis is over, you will return to using the correct form of address for my cousin, do you hear?”

“Yes, my Lord,” replied Sebastian smirking. He wondered how long it would take for the young master to realise that he had been so informal. He bowed low as Ciel left for his room and then grasped Louisa to him. “These are not the circumstances under which I wanted to be saying this, but let’s get you out of that horrendous dress.”

Louisa smiled as he scooped her up in his arms and took her to her room. Once inside with the door closed, he placed her on her feet, pulled her into his embrace and kissed her. Louisa threw her arms around his neck and pushed closer to him, exploring his mouth with her tongue before pulling away, looking into his eyes, and demanding, “Get this damn dress off of me now.”

“With pleasure, my love.”

Sebastian placed his hands so that he could grip the material at the top of the bodice, with one hand above each breast. Louisa moaned as his fingers grazed her skin. Capturing her mouth with his, Sebastian pulled at the edge of the dress, ripping the material down its length with ease. He slipped the remaining material from her shoulders, stood back and watched as the dress feel and pooled at her feet. Sebastian grinned and laid his hands on her waist. As he lifted her out of the centre of the dress, there was a knock at the door.

“Perfect timing, as always,” whispered Louisa, before continuing more loudly. “Come in Ciel.”

Ciel entered, and his face immediately turned scarlet. “What the hell?” He spluttered, trying hard not to stare at his cousin as she stood in just her corset and undergarments.

“My Lord, it is not what you think,” said Sebastian, fighting the urge to add ‘unfortunately’. He continued, “Louisa has no command over the material world; her powers are related to the elements; this means that she needs to remove her clothing to transform fully.”

“You mean, she will be naked?” asked Ciel, keeping his gaze firmly fixed on Sebastian.

“Yes, my Lord, and that is one of the main reasons why it shall be I that carries you for the entirety of the journey.”

Ciel was strangely conflicted by the whole thing, and it must have shown, even momentarily, judging by Sebastian’s raised eyebrow. Removing his tie, Sebastian continued, “My Lord if we can fix this in place as a blindfold, then we can continue.”

Ciel nodded, allowing Sebastian to fix the tie across his eyes and tie it in place at the back of his head. He did not like being kept in the dark, but, while curious about Sebastian’s true form, he wasn’t sure he could handle that tonight and he certainly wasn’t ready to see his cousin naked again, not in any form. He felt Sebastian’s hand on his shoulder as he guided him to the chair. Once seated he felt Sebastian move away; it was disconcerting not being able to see; his imagination, however, more than made up for his lack of vision as the scene played out in front of him.

Moving back to Louisa, Sebastian placed his hands on her shoulders. “Are you ready, my love?”

“Yes,” she replied, the certainty in her voice made Sebastian smile as he unlaced her corset and let it fall to the floor. He placed his hands on the waistband of her undergarments, he slid them down over her hips and took in the beautiful sight before him, his desire to see her in her demon form was the only thing that was stopping him from enacting any of the many other thoughts that were flowing through his mind.

“Now, my beauty, close your eyes and bring to mind the aspects of your form that you have already mastered. Feel your power in those aspects, and the rest should follow.”

Louisa nodded, she saw pain and worry in his eyes, and wished they had more time. Maybe she was being rash, but it was the only way she could think to reach the sword and then the castle in time. She closed her eyes and focused on the more pleasurable times that she had hovered between her two forms. Judging by the gasp that escaped Sebastian’s lips, it was working.

As she opened her eyes, Sebastian could see that they already shined black, her pointed teeth soon followed, as did her talons on both her hands and feet as they shifted shape to dragon claws. Sebastian smiled as her wings appeared, the great leathery wings took their full size, the tips barely clearing the floor, the clawed ends of the folded points sat just above her head. As the power coursed through her, Louisa’s skin began to shimmer and change. In place of her pain skin, grey/green scales spread to cover her entire body. Sebastian could hold back no longer. He went to her, grasped her head in his hands and kissed her. As she responded he began his transformation; black mist surrounded then both as black feathered wings sprouted from his back, his skin transformed to the same raven black as his hair, while his teeth grew sharp and multiple raven eyes fixed in place across his upper face. As he removed his newly formed claws from Louisa’s face, he stepped back and smiled as he took in the final elements of her transformation, her whip-like tail swirled around her legs, while spiral horned crowned her head.

“You are beautiful, my love. Never could I have imagined that you would grow so powerful, so quickly. You are more than ready to take your place in the demon realm, should you choose to,” said Sebastian.

“Only if that place is by your side, my love,” she replied.

Sebastian grinned and kissed her. “Always, my love.”

Ciel coughed gently. The air was thick with their desire for each other, and that was something he didn’t want to imagine, let alone hear, did he, no he shook the image from his mind. Time was short anyway.

The noise was enough to bring them back,.“Quite right, my Lord, time is of the essence.” Sebastian reached out his hand, grasped the maps from the air and placed them within the little clothing that he found it best to wear in his current form. He moved back to Ciel, scooped him from the chair and held him tight again his chest. “Place your arms around my neck, my Lord, and hold on tight.” Looking at Louisa, he continued, “You have the memory of flying with your father, hold on tight to that, and if all else fails, remember you control the elements. Use the wind to aid you.”

Louisa nodded and the two demons, with their human, charge made for the balcony. Sebastian climbed onto the rail, opened his wings to their full span and stepped off. Ciel squealed as he felt himself fall before a smirking Sebastian lifted them back level with the balcony. Without hesitation, Louisa followed, and despite Sebastian’s worries, she immediately caught the wind and soared high above them. Beating her wings slowly to bring her back down to Sebastian and Ciel, she laughed, “Come on, what are you waiting for? The night is not getting any younger, and we have a long way to go.”

Sebastian’s laughter joined hers as they soared together. At that moment, he would have given anything not to have been burdened with his master and to have been able to fly freely with the beauty at his side. But such was the cost of duty, and he silently promised himself that they would fly together again soon, and he would show her the many other pleasures that could be had in the open sky.
