The seventh season of The Walking Dead returned for its second half, and what a premiere it was. Between the massive walker kill and the new survivors' group introduced, the mid-season premiere made for one of the best episodes in a long time.

The massive sequence which saw Rick and Michonne take down a horde of walkers was quite a sight, but the scene overshadowed something very important: Rick's group now has some dynamite.

Before Rick and Michonne kill most of the herd of walkers, Rick's group is on a mission to scout the Saviors' camp. On the way, they run into a blockade of cars, deciding to move the vehicles to scout the area from there.

When the group starts moving the vehicles, Michonne discovers something not too far off in the distance. When the group approaches the unseen area, they discover a tripwire with multiple sets of dynamite packs on the road. The device has all of the dynamite set to ignite at once as soon as some unsuspecting passerby sets it off. Rick's group disables the bomb and keep the dynamite for a future purpose.

Now that Rick's group has found this trap, they'll need to be on the lookout for more surprises — but more importantly, they have a very important decision to make: what do they do with it?

What Will Rick Do With The Dynamite?

Rick's group needs any armaments they come across after being emptied out by the Saviors, so this dynamite could definitely be useful to them. Rick may decide to set up the tripwire at another point closer to the Saviors' camp in hopes of causing an "accident" of sorts.

Although it seems like Rick will find some use for the dynamite later on, it may not come into play until Rick's group has Negan in a vulnerable position. Then, that dynamite could turn the tide for Rick, regardless of how many men Negan has with him. Using the dynamite would also be much more effective than using bullets, since the Saviors travel in large packs — so if one of them triggers an explosive, a large portion of their group will either be killed or injured by the radius of the blast.

Personally, I expect Rick's group to set up the tripwire elsewhere on the road, adjacent to where it was placed initially, so the Saviors will trigger the explosives themselves. That way, it would seem like one of Negan's men set up the tripwire incorrectly and Negan would still be clueless about Rick's plot to take him down.
