'Throne Of Glass' Book Series

This is the most enthralling book series I have ever read. When I'm not reading the books, I find myself constantly thinking about it.

I received the first book of the series for Christmas and so far, I haven't really put it down, having six books in the series so far with another to be released in the third quarter of 2018! So far I am on the third book with just over sixty pages left to go but I'm pacing myself as I have just ordered the fourth book, Queen of Shadows, but it doesn't come until next week!

About The Author

The author's name is Sarah J Maas, an American writer that has had a top selling series (Throne of Glass) in the New York Times. She first released Throne of Glass in 2012 and has since been releasing a new book every year since, with a special coming out in 2014 called Assassins Blasé which is a collection of novellas called:

  1. The Assassin and the Pirate Lord
  2. The Assassin and the Healer
  3. The Assassin and the Desert
  4. The Assassin and the Underworld
  5. The Assassin and the Empire

These are technically classed as the lead up to the first book Throne of Glass but was released two years after it. I have to say though that Sarah J Maas does have a way with words as whilst I rea,d I tend to imagine and see every detail in my mind like a movie. It's not something that happens with every book I read though, it takes something special to get the ''movie'' to play effortlessly. Although I have noticed grammar as well as some spelling mistakes within the books, I really don't mind when the writing is as good as it is.

'Throne Of Glass'

This is the first of the book series in regards to year of release and in the series itself, although The Assassins Blade is a collection of Novellas that leads to The Throne of Glass yet was published two years later. Confusing, I know!

Being the first book that I have read after receiving it from my sister-in-law for Christmas, it seems she knew me better than I thought because she knew that I liked queens, kings, assassins, love stories, love triangles, magic, witch craft, blood and gore, sex, hate and most of all, a good ol' tyrant in the middle of it all! The main characters in the book are of course the assassin—Celaena Sardothien, the King, the prince—Dorian Havilliard, the captain of the guard—Chaol, princess of Eyllwe—Nehemia as well as a few others that don't make it past the first book.

I have to admit that I thoroughly enjoyed this book, not knowing what was going to happen next, the will they/ won't they moments, as well as the very descriptive writing by Sarah J Maas. Fair play, it was a hell of a read!

'Crown of Midnight'

This gets straight into it in regards to gore, blood shed, and trickery. Celaena Sardotien is walking a deadly line where the slightest misstep could get her killed. Tragic events unfold in this book which will leave you dumbfounded! I know I didn't see it coming! There is also a tale of love and friendship and loss in this one too. I'm trying really hard not to blurt out who does what and what happens! So... if I'm extremely vague I'm sorry, I just don't want to ruin the books for you! However I will say she ends up with someone who isn't Dorian... that's all I'm telling! Read the rest yourself!

'Heir Of Fire'

This is the book I have sixty pages left to read of. Let me tell you straight out that this for me is the best one yet. Without giving too much away, I'll mention a few scaly beasts, some ancient old women, faeries and Fae and a MASSIVE twist to the entire storyline! I could not believe it when I read it. I smiled and went ''what!!!'' When I read it, I think I got a little too into it... But once you read it you will understand why! In regards to the amount of action in the book, well there's only most of it! So put your feet up, grab your book and get reading! Trust me when I say it's action packed!

That's all for now until I finish a few more books and come back here to update. I still have another three books to read plus the new one being released in the third quarter of this year! But to put it as best I can, I am not generally known as someone who reads. I am more of a gamer, web designer and all round tech guy, so for me to not be able to put the book down and be constantly thinking about it and choosing to read the book than go on the Xbox that should speak a thousand words to how good the series really is. Those that have read the series will agree as well as be a little excited about the new upcoming book! I think it will be out either August 30 or October 30. I'm not sure... I know it's not until Autumn/Winter time.
