'Timeless': TV Show Review

The new season is out and it's... alright?

Timeless just came out with its season two. It came out about a month ago and will be premiering its sixth episode tomorrow night. In the first season I wasn't really into it but when I found out the thickness of history of Rittenhouse in the series I became an avid watcher. Here are some things that season two gives us as watchers.

Lucy's Mom and That Scary Lady

At the end of season one, we found out that Lucy's mom is a part of a long line of Rittenhouse families, this making Lucy "royalty" in the Rittenhouse realm. We also learned at the ending episodes of season one that a woman who "got stuck" in time is a part of Rittenhouse as well. This woman even tried to kill Lucy on multiple occasions. Then during the Salem Witch Trials, her mother accused Lucy of being a witch causing her to be in line to be hung! Mothers can be the worst sometimes, but this woman is on a whole new level.

Rufus and Jiya

As we saw last season, the gang and Jiya went into the time machine because Rufus was shot and couldn't make the jump himself. There is one problem. We learned in the beginning that only three people can make the trip in the time machine. Jiya ends up experiencing seizures and fainting spells. She sees a doctor and they tell her she is of perfect health, which is strange because Jiya is not in perfect health. She has conditions that are now gone and she can now tell the future for Rufus. What does that mean for the team?

Jessica

No, thank you. This whole time Wyatt is trying to get his wife back and change the future. Then he realizes that he is falling in love with Lucy and when they do the deed, Rittenhouse went back in time and saved Jessica. Um excuse me, Lucy and Wyatt are the best couple and now you bring in Wyatt's dead wife to throw them off? I am very sad so I literally stopped watching after that scene because I couldn't handle it. I have had too much heartbreak in the world of television. Just give me a relationship that will work!

Rittenhouse

Rittenhouse is definitely a cool adversary. We learn that they are everywhere in history. The most historical figures are a part of this apocalyptic world changing organization. However, I would want to change some things in history like the Holocaust and such, but other events like presidential elections, etc. I would not. History is the way it is and we can't change it for it has made all of us the way we are and Rittenhouse is trying to change that. I am not quite sure their main goal, but every villain thinks they are the good guy.

Flynn

During the Salem Witch Trials episode, we see that Flynn is brought more into the equation so the story gets interesting. He technically was the "villain" in the first season, but when the main characters find out that he is trying to stop Rittenhouse they tag along on his mission. He finds himself in prison though for the things he's done, but the team gets him out to help them. He is more of an informant than anything but he will find his way.

History

The history involved in this show is amazing! I think I have learned more from this class than my freshmen college history class. Not to say that I am stupid, but my teacher talked fast and the quizzes were gibberish. But anyways, the history is accurate and important. Lucy is a historian and is very intelligent. She leads these two men in their quest through time.
