Which one would you want?
10. The Flying Car
This light blue Ford Anglia 105E Deluxe was modified by Arthur Weasley so it had the ability to fly. As well as this awesome new improvement a device called an “Invisibility Booster” was installed so this car can also become invisible. What a way to impress your Muggle friends, just make sure you activate the “Invisibility Booster” before you take flight as you could be fined up to 50 Galleons for illegal bewitching!
A magical instrument used by witches and wizards to channel their magical powers, made from wood with a magical core. Every wand is different so the core can differ from a Phoenix tail feather to a Unicorn hair, and remember the wand chooses the wizard so you don't have to spend hours and hours searching for one you like! Also, if you're anything like myself (an arachnophobic) a wand is very useful in performing the spell “Arania Exumai” to rid your house of any spiders! Wands even work underwater!
8. The Time Turner
A special item used to turn back time by using an “Hour-Reversal Charm” enchantment, it resembles an encased hourglass hanging on the chain of a necklace. Yes, it's very pretty but also very useful (especially for Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban)! She used it to take extra classes so she could be in two different places at once! For example during second period on a Monday morning, Divination and The Study of Ancient Runes were subjects held at the same time and Hermione attended them both—perfect for you bright sparks!
7. Harry's Invisibility Cloak
This magical garment is used to make the wearer invisible and Harry's particular cloak is one of the three Deathly Hallows. This is the only Invisibility Cloak in existence to not lose its magic or fade with age, so it can be passed down for generations—a great investment if you ask me! It's very powerful and can resist jinxes, hexes, and other harmful spells (which would damage an ordinary Invisibility Cloak) but I would use it to scare my friends and pinch all sorts of magical goodies in Honeyduke's Sweet Shop. A Muggle use for this garment is a soldier in the army, they could use it as the perfect camouflage to infiltrate enemy camps!
Usually used for transportation, every wizarding household owns at least one, but racing brooms are used to play the popular wizard sport known as Quidditch. They are a very useful device and can respond to simple commands, but remember that some wizards are better at forming a bond with brooms than others—even straight-A student Hermione can't control them! One particular special broomstick, owned by Harry from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban called the “Firebolt” is capable at going from 0 to 150 mph in just ten seconds—that's faster than most muggle super cars! I know which one I'd prefer to own.
5. Hermione's Handbag
A small, purple, beaded handbag that Hermione used an “Undetectable Extension Charm” on, making it similar to the bag in Mary Poppins. This is more than just a pretty accessory! A bag small enough to stuff in your sock but big enough on the inside to hold camping gear, several books, clothes, first aid supplies, and your Invisibility Cloak! Imagine what we lug around in an unattractive backpack in school can easily be replaced by Hermione's little bag to carry all your text books, notepads and pens—very useful!
4. The Marauder's Map
This map is a magical document, disguised as a piece of blank parchment (unless you know the password to reveal its secrets) but is, in fact, a complete map of Hogwarts castle and shows every classroom, hallway, and inch of the surrounding grounds and the seven secret passageways from Hogwarts to a nearby town called Hogsmeade! It's a very smart item and isn't fooled by animagi, polyjuice potions or invisibility cloaks—it shows the location of every single person within the ground and what they're doing, every minute of every day!
3. Wizard's Chess
Everyone loves a good chess game and in this one, the pieces come to life—literally! Identical to the muggle equivalent in every way (including the basic rules), this is a board game with a slight magical twist. As you play there's no need to touch your game pieces because they will move to your desired spot entirely on their own! Be warned, bewitched chess pieces will crumble (again, literally!) your opponent as they will violently smash the other team's pieces into tiny pieces.
2. The Philosopher's Stone
If you play the song "Who Wants To Live Forever" by Queen, you will finally understand why this battered rock is so important. This stone is legendary as it can be used to brew a special potion that will give the drinker immortal life... and don't forget the extra selling point this item has, it can turn any and all metals into gold! What a shame it was destroyed by Dumbledore in the Harry Potter series, I would have quite liked to see myself as insanely wealthy forever.
1. Magical Quills
Ever wanted to be top of the class? In everything? Like Hermione? Well with these bewitched quills, you can be! There's one for everything, and I'm not joking! The Spell-Checking Quill (sold by Weasley's Wizard Wheezes to automatically correct spelling, like auto-correct on today's iPhone), the Quick Quotes Quill (a stenographic tool that will record every word being said in a conversation, all by itself!) and by far my favourite of them all, the Auto-Answer Quill! It does just what it says in the name, as soon as the nib touches a particular question on your piece of parchment it writes the correct answer instantly. However, this quill is banned from all O.W.L Examinations for obvious reasons—it's cheating!
