Life can get us down sometimes, but there can always be something to cheer us up. Whether it be a walk in the park, a hug from a friend, or reading a book, everyone enjoys different things to make them happy. When I feel down, I enjoy watching funny videos or funny tv shows that can help flip my mood. Below are five shows that are guaranteed to brighten anyone’s day.

1.) Impractical Jokers

Joe Gatto, James Murray (Murr), Sal Vulcano, and Brian Quinn (Q) are four best friends from high school who are the main characters in this show. They compete in different challenges and at the end of the show, there is a “big loser.” The four guys have to receive thumbs up by completing the challenge in order to stay off the loser board. Whoever receives the most thumbs down by the end of the show is the one who has to receive a big punishment. For example, one time Sal had to help deliver a baby cow. The punishments and challenges can be disgusting, embarrassing, hilarious, and everything else in between. I can watch this show for hours and never get sick of it. I always recommend it to my friends and they love watching it. You can watch it on truTV or On Demand.

2.) America’s Funniest Home Videos

This one is a classic. Alfonso Ribeiro recently replaced Tom Bergeron as the host. This show features homemade videos from people all over the country. Personally, my favorite clips are any that include a dog as the instigator. This show is definitely one I look forward to watching every Sunday night. And if I miss an episode, I know I can find it on Xfinity on Campus when I’m hanging out in my dorm room after class.

3.) Young & Hungry

For those who watched Hannah Montana, you’ll remember Emily Osment who played Lily and Lola as Miley, and Hannah’s, sidekick. Young & Hungry is a show on Netflix that follows the life of Gabi Diamond, who is the personal chef for Josh Kaminski, who is a very wealthy man. The two fall in and out of love throughout the episodes, but I’m hoping by the end of each season that they will stay together. I definitely think this show is geared more towards an older audience because of the jokes and sense of humor of the characters. It is on its fifth season now and I hope it continues for much longer.

4.) Family Feud

Steve Harvey is the best. And if you’re a game show lover like myself, this show is perfect. Harvey always has the contestants laughing, as well as myself. The way he reacts to the families’ answers is priceless. Perfect way to settle down in front of the TV when you’re coming home from work.

5.) The Ellen DeGeneres Show

I don’t watch this show often, but when I do, I’m always laughing. I love the games that Ellen plays with audience members, or how she dances up and down the aisles. Personally, I enjoy watching the game “Know or Go.” In this game, three contestants are standing on a platform and they have to answer a series of questions. When they get the questions wrong, Ellen presses a button and they fall through the platform. I always wonder what is on the floor when they fall, but it is the suspense which makes it more enjoyable. Ellen is such an inspirational person who spreads her positivity with everyone else. I also like how much she interacts with the audience and helps those in need.
