Top Disney Princes

Princes need to be recognized, as well.

Princes that were the real heroes of the disney films, who actually did save the princess:

1. Prince Eric

In The Little Mermaid, prince Eric drives a ship into the belly of the monster known as Ursula, thus saving Ariel and her father all in one go. Eric is a hero because he also earned the respect of Ariel's father thanks to his heroic act.

2. Prince Phillip

In Sleeping Beauty, he falls in love with Aurora and even though he was captured by Maleficent, with a little help from three fairies he managed to get out of those handcuffs and he was able to trust in the sword and kill Maleficent, so the kingdom would no longer live in fear. His most heroic act was kissing Aurora awake, which then in turn wakes up the entire kingdom and he frees the castle from the grasping vines of the roses.

3. Prince Adam

Prince Adam was a selfish prince who was in love with himself and had no heart to let anyone in. In Beauty and the Beast, Prince Adam defeats his true nemesis, which is himself. He had to grow to become a better person and he had to learn to love other people and that could be one of our hardest tasks yet.

4. Aladdin

Aladdin was not a prince at the beginning of the movie. He was a poor boy who barely had food to eat and had to steal to get by. He had to risk his life every day just to get something to eat and not only that, he was willing to split his earnings with the poor children eating out of the garbage. Aladdin is probably one of the most selfless princes in Disney. Then, Aladdin had turned the evil Jafar into a caged genie simply by using his wits and thus trapping Jafar for eternity in a lamp.

5. Flynn Rider, AKA Eugene

Flynn rider is one of the most interesting characters. At first, he was the guy who wanted a castle, but then ended up falling for Rapunzel and we all remember the scene where Eugene was about to die and be injured when Rapunzel runs over to save him with her magic hair. To solve all the problems which her hair has caused, he picked up the broken mirror and sliced off her hair, so Rapunzel would not have to deal with Mother Gothel. By cutting off her hair, he also killed the villain because age had caught up with her and she fell down the window.

6. Simba

Simba was raised by a meerkat and a large warthog. Life can't get any weirder than that. Simba was a prince and his father showed him everything that he would once own. Scar, however, foiled these plans and Simba was forced to run away. Then, Simba has a heart to heart with his father in the skies and he realizes what it means to have an identity. Simba goes back and faces his impossible past and becomes the king that he was meant to.

7. Hercules

From zero to hero, we have Hercules. It was obvious that he was going to be the hero since he is a demigod. With his abnormal strength and slight clumsiness, he still defeated Hades by becoming a god. Hercules risked his mortal life to save the woman he loves, with the risk that he might not be alive after diving in to save Meg's soul. He took the biggest risk, and he became a true hero.

8. John Smith

Even though he was not a prince, he was still a hero. He tried to convince his new-comers that "Indians" do not know what gold is and instead they have other vegetables such as corn. John Smith took a bullet for Chief Powhatan and instead of staying with the woman he loved, he had to go back home.

9. Li Shang

Even though Mulan was the hero of this story, Li shang had a lot to do with her success. He taught her how to be a great warrior and a fighter, then when he learned that Mulan was a woman, he had some trust issues he had to overcome.

10. Prince Charming

After Cinderella lost her glass slipper, Prince Charming stopped at nothing to find the girl that was at the ball. His determination to find Cinderella is endearing and it is what every Disney princess would want. Even when he found out that she was being a "maid" for her two sisters and step mother, he was still willing to marry her.
