Top Ten Disney Deaths

Disney is always come across as child-friendly and where the hero always wins. However, we need to take into account what happens to villains when they die. Also, some minor good guys have perished as well in brutality. Some just have fatal deaths that make us squirm inside and wonder whether or not this is child-appropriate.

10. Fantasia

We all sort of forget about this one, mostly because there is a mix of different stories going on with classical music in the background. There is the scene with the dinosaurs and the T-Rex comes and one of the dinosaurs known as the Stegosaurus decides to fight against the T-Rex and finally, the T-Rex defeats the brave stegosaurus by biting down on his neck numerous times and thus killing him.

9. Ursula

Prince Eric saves the day. Once Ursula grows into the giant sea monster Prince Eric takes the wheel of the ship and rams it into her ginormous belly. He basically stabs her with a ship. This happens after Ursula accidentally kills her own two pets. Not a good day for Ursula that's for sure. It also appears that her magic dies with her.

8. Gaston

This is the scene in Beauty and the Beast where he thinks he has defeated the beast because he has successfully stabbed him in the back, but then Gaston tumbles to his death down, of course, the famous Disney thing to do: a cliff. The moral of the story here is to not stab people in the back because chances are there is a cliff right behind you.

7. Commander Lyle

Commander first kills Helga by throwing her off a balloon. Milo then cuts Lyle, Lyle then starts to turn to ice and Milo thinks that he is dead, but he becomes this ice monster that goes after him as Milo tries to free Kida. Then, it is a little unclear of what happens, but we see an explosion on the screen and that ends the life of the corrupted commander.

6. Mufasa

Mufasa was a good guy and Disney killed him off (as they did with so many of the parent figures). Scar who is Mufasa's brother grabs him and pulls him close to his ear and whispers "long live the king" and then he lets go of Mufasa, who then tumbles down a cliff and gets trampled by the wildebeests. He died in his own kingdom. Then, Scar made Simba run away after Simba lies with his dead father. This is the one death that has made me cry time after time.

5. Hades

Even though his death was simple and easy, it was still pretty traumatizing for him at least. Hercules emerges as a God and he punches Hades who goes flying into his own river of souls and the souls then start to grip at him and he tries to get out. Then, his two minions just stand there staring at him as he is drowned by the souls in the pool.

4. Shan Yu

Mulan is in combat with one of the most dangerous people in China. Mushu lights a firework on fire and Mulan pins him down with her sword and Shan Yu goes flying to the next building and then he blows up into fireworks while Mulan escapes the explosion. That is too brutal, but also well deserving because he killed so many.

3. Clayton

This was completely Clayton's fault. Tarzan wanted to help him, but Clayton's anger leads him to his final breath. Clayton has been caught in the vines and he starts cutting them off one by one trying to free himself, but then he ends up tying himself a noose strangling himself to the death. Almost being a suicide. Then the most horrific detail is that we see his limp shadow hanging from the tree.

2. Scar

He had this one coming for him. Scar admits that he is friends with the hyenas, but then the hyenas recall him calling them the enemies. At this point, Scar has already had a bad fall and now his subjects hunt him down and kill him by jumping on him and then a lightning strikes and lights fire to the whole thing and we never see scar again.

1. Stika

Brother Bear has a lot of deaths in it, but the one that is hard to watch is Sitka's death. He sees that his two younger brothers are in trouble and he pierces the ice with the spear and the whole glacier starts to fall. We see Sitka looking into the eyes of his brothers as he falls to his death. We then see that the bear he was trying to save them from gets away. I put this one on number one because this was a sacrifice that was made on Sitka's part.
