True Blood Finale: An Ending That Demands a New Beginning

Moved on from True Blood already? Lol, no you haven't.

For me, a True Blood Movie would be fangtastic. It could showcase the storylines that "could have been" or the storylines we never got to further explore in the series. Plus, It's not only the fans wanting for more..

Read this article (after you read mine, okay?) for the stories the cast and showrunner Brian Buckner wish the show had explored.

Last night I finally watched the True Blood finale, and surprisingly, I only got a bit teary-eyed but I didn't really cry. I went to bed at midnight, but I couldn't sleep 'cause the graveyard scene from "Thank You" keeps appearing in my head along with the creepy Sarah Newlin, and it bugged me for days.

Reviews of all sorts about the True Blood finale are poppin' up until now. But, here's what I think of it. The finale isn't terrible at all. It is probably because I've been 60% spoiled before it aired, so I knew what was coming, but, not really. It feels different when you're watching the real thing. It's like when you know that it is going to end, you cherish every bit of the moment that you can.

I know most people feel like the show led us on to believe that, "Okay, Eric won't get her, but at least, Bill would... And he's no longer the Billith asshole, so we could take that." Only to have our hearts broken because of Bill's decision, and we're like staked to the heart, or slapped in the face with a frozen steak as well.

Here's my recap...

1. Bill explains his decision to Sookie. *cries*

2. PaRic lets Sarah escape, and fires Mr. Gus. Literally.

“Pamela: "In case you've forgotten Eric, the whole world's looking for her. If Gus didn't know about the tunnel, why not crawl out with her?"”

“Eric: "Because, Pamela Swynford de Beaufort, we are going to kill Mr. Gus. And we're going to steal New Blood from him. I've tried trusting, I've tried sharing, and it's just not fucking working for me. Now, you with me or not?"”

Oh and the Japanese line Eric said before killing the Yakuza men before they kill Sookie... Priceless.

3. Pam's heart-to-heart talk with Sarah Newlin.

"I wouldn't let you go down on me for a billion dollars. And as for me going down on you, there's not enough money in the world."

Now, I loved this part not just because it's Sarah Newlin eatin' garbage part, or the fact that this was the place were Willa was turned. But also because this part had me cursing "WTF". Sarah, that hypocrite bitch. She deserves this.

Oh, and I'm not really annoyed at Anna Camp, but Sarah keeps on appearing in my dreams last night, and just the very mention of "Sarah Newlin" infuriates me, Camp's performance is very effective.

Next is when Hoyt and Jessica arrived in the Compton household, and moments later, Bill is obviously giving Jessica away to make sure she was looked after for, I liked it when Jess said she could take care of herself, and even though she's a vampire, she is still a girl. Yes, Bill wants to experience the walking-down-the-aisle stuff he didn't get to do with his human daughter.

And remember, when our dad embarrasses us in front of friends, Jess gets us too.

4. JESSICA'S WEDDING.

Remember in Season 6 when everybody hated Bill because he became an asshole of a prophet?!

So, what's with all the commotion when he died in the final episode? Wouldn't that make some of us, hypocrites? We all wanted Bill to be killed off in Season 6, Sookie to end up with the fan-favorite Eric, and life to resume back to normal.

Let's take it in a view of a person whose only wish was for you to be happy. Bill felt like he has lived long enough and even if the cure is just there, he wouldn't take it because of reasons I think only Eric understood.

However, I don't think in a way, that Bill's decision is illogical. He was a man of honor. Him committing suicide isn't like him -

- but he has come to this point in his life where he just wanted to leave a lasting happiness to the woman he loves, and find peace himself. He waited for his death all along.

He met his true death knowing what it means to love, to be loved back, and the feeling similar to getting back the mortality and humanity stolen away from him. He still died with dignity and by his own choice. Like Godric did.

'Death is the same - in my opinion we are not dying - we're born into another experience that is greater than ourselves and that is an extension of what it is to love and be loved.'

5. Bill's True Death.

I gradually accepted that Bill would choose to die instead. I only dislike this part because of how quick they've decided to just do it. A day after your daughter's wedding? That's just awful.

Kudos to Anna Paquin by the way, for I really felt a pang of pain when Sookie was left crying after staking Bill.

Let's move on from that depressing moment.

One year later...

Cheesy infomercial, but adorable Northman.

I was actually watching True Blood with my grandaunt that night, and no, she isn't a Truebie, but she enjoyed Hoyt and Jess' wedding, and this part, she actually grinned when Eric said "New Blood!"

Three years after that...

Thanksgiving 2014 at Sookie's, and Fangtasia is more active than it ever was before.

And finally...

The Thanksgiving at Sookie's! They're in gifs because I love this part so much. It is nice to see them altogether happy and not batshit crazy.

I'd like to think that Pam and Eric went to party with them too, after they're own party at Fangtasia.

So, like Sex and The City, we, fans of the show would want to have a feature film for True Blood. Because we feel like there are still so many questions left unanswered, or some storylines we would love to see and explore again.

One last thing..

Not that the cast and crew of True Blood would even look at this, but, I just want y'all to know that I love you all. And, Thank You!
