The final season of Teen Wolf debuted on Sunday, July 30th, and though viewers were hoping to get some of our fan favorite characters back we weren't sure exactly who would be returning to Beacon Hills. After all, some of the characters left because the actors had chosen to leave the show, so would they want to return?

Fortunately for us, one of the actors—Tyler Hoechlin—was coaxed by Colton Haynes to rejoin the Teen Wolf family, and we caught a glimpse of him on the season premiere July 30th.

Granted, it was a brief scene, but Derek Hale is back! And we now know that #TylerHoechlin is not just going to have a cameo here and there in the final episodes. In fact, according to Executive Producer Jeff Davis, #DerekHale has a substantial role on the final episodes.

It is not a cameo. He comes back. He's got great scenes with JR Bourne, some good fighting stuff. It was really great to have Tyler Hoechlin back on set. He was so enthusiastic to get back to the role and to please the fans with the return.

According to the final moments of the mid-season premiere, Derek is being hunted by the FBI, and Stiles is the only one of the gang who knows it.

Why Derek is being hunted is something that will unravel throughout the course of the final nine episodes, but fans devoted to the former Alpha are thrilled to see him back. In fact, we're so excited, we're hoping Tyler's return to Teen Wolf will be the shot in the arm he needs to consider joining the reboot.

Since news of the reboot broke, fans have been anxiously awaiting news of what this will mean to the beloved characters of the current show. The good news is, a large portion of the cast is interested in returning to work on the show that has made them famous, starting with #TylerPosey.

"I would love to be a part of it. I want to be a part of everything Teen Wolf. I just think it's really cool that we helped build what might be a legacy. Teen Wolf might be a name that's carried around for years, and that's really cool that we were the start of it. I would love to be a part of the stuff after..."

So if Tyler Posey returns, wouldn't it only be fitting that Tyler Hoechlin, the werewolf that helped #ScottMcCall learn how to be a werewolf, join the reunion? We certainly hope so and can't wait for more news once the reboot is officially underway!
