The very first movie image from ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E’ has been revealed by Warner Bros. This ends the popularity of the previously notable photo of a casually dressed Henry Cavill riding a white scooter.

Yay! Yippie!

The movie takes you back to the era of 60s into the ever persistent Cold War archetype. The protagonist of the movie is Napoleon Solo, a CIA operative played by Man of Steel hunk Henry Cavill. He joins KGB operative Illya Kuryakin, played by Armie Hammer under complicated circumstances on a secret mission involving a mysterious organization run by criminals with a foreshadowing ‘nuclear weapons’ vibe.

The project had its streak of yes and no in the form of a long and I mean a long episode of casting genesis and revival. It all began as a Steven Soderbergh film with George Clooney rumored to be a part of it while Channing Tatum was actually a part of it until Soderbergh opted out. Guy Ritchie took over and Tom Cruise was a name that resonated around the production rumor mills. Apparently MI 5 needed consulting and Superman saved that day.

The image looks like a 60s sports trophy memorabilia rightfully capturing Guy Ritchie’s hardcore funny element and the essentials of the movie timeline in the background. From the maker of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch and Sherlock Holmes, the movie will be enduringly funny. Worth the wait I hope.

The Man from U.N.C.L.E opens in theaters August 14, 2015.
