Warner Bros. Rolled Out The Mothra Of All Fan Campaigns At Comic-Con

When Warner Bros. and Legendary announced their plans to launch a cinematic universe revolving around, you guessed it, monsters - the internet was a little stunned but willing to give it a shot, considering it would focus on Godzilla and King Kong. Both monsters have been pivotal over the years in terms of massive scale monsters - in comparison to Universal's Dark Universe of, you know, normal-sized monsters like the Mummy, the Wolfman, etc.
This weekend at San Diego Comic-Con, Warner Bros. used the plethora of monster fans at the convention to create a unique Twitter campaign to reveal some background on one of Godzilla's greatest adversaries ever, Mothra.
The social media pages for Warner Bros., Monarch Sciences, and Kong: Skull Island launched a campaign to search out the monarch logo around the SDCC area and post it back with the #MonarchSightings hashtag in order to unlock a classified piece of evidence about the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters film.

WB's MonsterVerse was spun into creation back in 2014 when #Godzilla returned to theaters after years of hiding (16 years actually). After Kong: Skull Island arrived earlier this year, faithful fans have been jumping on board with the new cinematic universe. We've known for a while that the next film in line would be a return for Godzilla with Godzilla: King of the Monsters. It's set to showcase the greatest Godzilla battles ever, when you consider what the studio has laid out in their official description:
The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species – thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity's very existence hanging in the balance.
So we're set to see Godzilla face off against three incredible monster battles in #KingoftheMonsters, due out in 2019, and based on the level of intrigue it's already gathering - this will be good!
