Marvel's Black Panther may be the most exciting movie in the MCU to date. It's set to introduce us to a whole new corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and will add a welcome breath of diversity to this unique superhero world.

Now, thrillingly, Marvel has just released a new trailer to give us a fresh glimpse of Black Panther. Check it out below:

The trailer launches with a fantastic monologue, teasing that this will be a film like nothing else we've seen in the #MCU before. We've seen gods and aliens, super-soldiers and men in armor. But we've never gone to Wakanda before! The set designs and CGI are absolutely stunning, creating a sci-fi world that seems so very real.

In the wake of Captain America: Civil War, T'Challa must claim his father's throne. Unfortunately, his nation's secrets are gradually becoming public knowledge. The world is casting a covetous eye to Wakanda's vibranium, and the Black Panther will be called to defend his country against a dangerous conspiracy.

Perhaps most excitingly, the trailer gives us our first glimpse of what appears to be T'Challa's vision quest. In the comics, the Black Panther is empowered by the Panther God, a spiritual being dedicated to the defense of the Wakandan people. Look closely, and you can even see the Panther God himself, lounging in a tree, looking at T'Challa as he approaches. Fans have speculated that the Soul Stone will be found in Wakanda, explaining the blend of science and sorcery that we'll discover in the fictional African nation. If that's the case, we can presume that T'Challa's spirit quest is powered by the Soul Stone.

This seems to be the same trailer released at San Diego Comic-Con, where gleeful fans excitedly discussed Killmonger's Golden Jaguar outfit. You can certainly see why that inspired such a strong reaction — visually, it's a wonder to behold!

Releasing on February 16, 2018, Black Panther promises to be a tremendous political action thriller. Chadwick Boseman delighted audiences when he was introduced in 2016's Captain America: Civil War, and this film is set to turn that fan-favorite appearance into another powerhouse film franchise.
