What Could Marvel's Secret Television Project Be?

As much as I'd love to see television adaptations of Blade or Cloak and Dagger, that clearly isn't the direction this is going.

I was perusing the twitter-verse when I came across a link from comicbook.com. Writer Jay Jayson said:

In April, it was revealed that Oscar-winning and Emmy-nominated screenwriter/producer John Ridley (12 Years a Slave, American Crime) is developing a Marvel television project for ABC. Entertainment Weekly, the site that broke the story, only knows that it involves reinventing a hero from Marvel’s stable of characters.
Since then, many people have been speculating that it could be a Ms. Marvel show, featuring Muslim-American teenager Kamala Khan. While others have suggested a television adaptation of Blade or Cloak and Dagger as well as a Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spinoff series for fan-favorite character Deathlok (J. August Richards). Though it seems all of this speculation missed the marked, according to Ridley.
“My only connection to social media is my lovely wife, who is dialed in, and I can tell you that 99.99999 percent of everything that was put on social media was so phenomenally off-the-mark,” Ridley said at ABC’s Television Critics Association Press Tour (via AV Club). “Not to be arcane, but the rumors are truly off-the-mark. But it’s in a fun way. I’m just glad to be part of the conversation.”
He's still keeping details of his project under wraps at it is still in the development stage. "The only thing I can say about it is that I’m really in love with that project,” Ridley explained. “I continue to give Marvel and ABC credit because within their system they’re still trying to bring in other voices. I’m in the development stage where I get down on my knees and pray that it goes forward."

This got me thinking about what this mystery series could possibly be? As much as I'd love to see television adaptations of Blade or Cloak and Dagger, that clearly isn't the direction this is going. So here is my top 5 list of what I'm hoping could come out of this mysterious development (in no particular order):

1. Moon Knight

Seeing as this is reported to be on the ABC lineup and not Netflix, this one is a long shot; however, I've been dying to see the many sides of Marc Spector in any format. This is who I would say is the Marvel equivalent to Batman (with multiple personality disorder), so you've got to be excited about that. Spector was on a mercenary mission in Egypt and left for dead when an idol of the Egyptian moon god, Khonshu, saved him, and gave him moon-based powers. Moon Knight has a variety of skills that make him quite the hero in his own right, including slight psychic resistance (due to his multiple personalities), being an expert pilot (from years as a US Marine and mercenary), skilled detective, interrogation expert (often employing military secret police methods of torture), excellent Marksman, weapons master, and a master martial artist (being a former heavyweight boxing champion). He also briefly joined the Defenders, so there's a possible tie in with the Netflix series (IT'S ALL CONNECTED!!!!!).

2. White Tiger

The fifth White Tiger, Ava Ayala, is a newer hero having joined the expanded Avengers Academy roster at the California-based Avengers Compound, as the first new full-time student since the Academy's inception. Amulets of Power enhance her strength, speed, stamina, agility, dexterity, reflexes, reaction time, coordination, balance, endurance and gave her access to experience and abilities of a master martial artist. Most of what I know of her is from the recent animated series Ultimate Spider-Man, but I think bringing her into the MCU has some great potential. I'm thinking, with Spider-Man being a younger hero as well, you could have another iteration of the Avengers Academy or even a revamped idea of what Ultimate Spider-Man did in the comics, during the Infinity storyline. White Tiger was seen with Heroes for Hire too, so you know... it's all connected (I promise I'll stop saying that).

3. She-Hulk

Fans have been calling out for Jennifer Walters for a while now and with the Hulk having his own TV series back in the day, would it be too outlandish to give She-Hulk a chance? As the cousin of Bruce Banner, Jen Walters received her abilities when she had a transfusion of blood from her gamma-powered cousin (yeah, Bruce... the Hulk). She usually has the ability to change into her She-Hulk form on demand, and usually retains her intellect after the change as well. Balancing her life as a lawyer and a hero might seem too familiar, with the advent of Daredevil, but don't think of it as the same thing. This is ABC that we're talking about, remember.

4. Red Hulk and/or Thunderbolts

While we're on the topic of a Hulk show, and with the General "Thunderbolt" Ross making an appearance in Captain America: Civil War, might we be getting the Red Hulk on the small screen? This is the least likely of my list, being that General Ross' story is fraught with murder and revenge, but that doesn't take the Thunderbolts off the table, does it?

5. Spider-Woman

This is my number one hope. Jessica Drew's back story is complicated, so you can look that up on your own, but she's not connected to Spider-Man in anyway and Marvel has all the movie rights to her, from what I've researched (thankfully). With ties to Hydra, S.W.O.R.D., and the New Avengers, she'd be easy to fold into the existing MCU. Her powers include superhuman everything (slight exaggeration, but not by much), venom blasts, pheromone secretion (which isn't as gross as it sounds, actually pretty cool), and sustained flight, not to mention her athletic skills and being fluent in at least seven languages... this could be an Alias-like show (older reference, I know, but it's on Netflix... so don't judge me) in the MCU! A complicated story with lots of webs to untangle (I couldn't resist), but with John Ridley's repertoire and the need for more female heroes in the MCU, my bet is on Spider-Woman.
