'Will & Grace' - An Untold Scene

A Fan Fiction Scene About the Four

The Four

Will & Grace is one of those shows that once you get into it, you become a part of its family. THRILLED that it's back on the air and making people, myself included, laugh again.

I identify pretty closely to Grace. The wild, curly hair... the abrasive passion, the over dramatic proclamations and the unlucky bouts with love. If only I had her fashion sense (sometimes), her hair color (always) and her financial success.

This fan fiction scene below would fall around Season 3-4 of the FIRST launch, I believe. Within that timeline. Enjoy! This was a blast to write.

INT. GRACE ADLER DESIGNS

Grace is going over plans and she picks up her check list. She begins marking items off with vim and vigor.

GRACEDone. Done! and Done! (proud) How am I getting so much done?

Karen immediately enters, carrying about 14 shopping bags.

KARENHey Gracie.

GRACE

Ahh, yes, that was how.

Something in the air stops Karen and she begins to be vehemently repulsed.

KAREN

Wha... What is that? It smells like hay, vomit, and cherries in here. What's going on? What's happening?

Grace is embarrassed but pushes ahead.

GRACE

I bought an air freshener to mask the smell of whisky.

Karen pulls a bottle of vodka out of one of her shopping bags curiously.

KARENI thought we were drinkin' vodka. No?

Grace goes back into her work.

GRACENeither. Karen, this a place of business and I wish you would treat it that way just once. Just once I would love to walk in here, see you at the desk with messages for me. From clients. Not from you telling me what's wrong with my wardrobe. I would love a fresh cup of coffee waiting for me on the burner. Not your version of "coffee surprise" which usually consists of "Coffee" and "whatever liquor you were able to fit in your Louis Vuitton that morning." It's Grace Adler Designs, you know? And that means something to me. You've got to start taking this job seriously—

Grace is cut off by the sound of a blender. Karen, unbeknownst to Grace (and us), has set up a Margarita making station at her desk. Karen begins humming "Blame it on the Bossa nova" while dancing and continuing to make the drink. Grace takes a deep breath, walks over the blender and unplugs it. Karen jumps in confusion and looks around for a culprit.

KARENWh... Wh... What?

GRACEAre you kidding me?!

KAREN(very calm)

Look, I'm getting a lot of mixed messages from you Grace. You say "tequila," I say "vodka." I agree to your tequila and somehow I'm now being punished for it. Honey, I feel like I'm being set up to fail. I don't understand what you need. Other than a fire pit for those close and a mirror for that face.

Grace closes her eyes in frustration.

GRACEOkay, you know what? It's Friday. I got a lot done today. You win. Margaritas it is.

Grace plugs the blender back in, not realizing that Karen had removed the top. Strawberry margarita mix goes everywhere. Karen blocks herself with a shopping bag. Grace stands there as it drips off of her. They wait a moment as Karen surveys the damage.

KARENWell, look on the bright side, Gracie. Turns out you CAN look worse.

END OF SCENE.
