X-men the animated show was clearly the best.

Look I know there's nothing X'manny happening til May, but whatever. Also, click this.

I took the scores from IMDB, Metacritic, and Rotten Tomatoes. Let's go.

10. 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine'

These claws are shit.

IMDB: 6.6

Metacritic: 40

Tomatometer: 38

Overall: 4.8

My Opinion: 10th

They done fucked up. Ryan Reynolds/Wade Wilson got zipped up. Why can Professor X walk at the end? Does any of it make sense; not really. Wolverine's first outing on his own is easily the low point of the franchise.

Put it in the bin.

9. 'X-Men: Apocalypse'

wut.

IMDB rating: 7

Metacritic: 52

Tomatometer: 48

Overall: 5.67

My Opinion: 9th

What the fuck is this? Worst balding ever. Apocalypse looks and acts like crap. Practically everything in this is terrible. Even the Quicksilver scene is just ok.

8. 'X-Men: The Last Stand'

It fucking wasn't the last stand they lied.

IMDB Rating: 6.7

Metacritic: 58

Tomatometer: 48

Overall: 6.1

My Opinion: 8th

As per the main cast of the first X-Men trilogy are fucking great but what is Juggernaut even doing? A lot of side characters in this feel under developed and underused. Occasionally overused.

After X-Men and X2 this is just a bit disappointing.

7. 'The Wolverine'

FUCKING MASK/SUIT TEASE.

IMDB Rating: 6.7

Metacritic: 60

Tomatometer: 69

Overall: 6.53

My Opinion: 7th

Ah Wolverine, just missing on those middling spots of 5th and 6th. It's not too bad though. I had a fun time, still has a big section that doesn't make the best of sense. But by 2013 I think we all collectively accepted this run of X-Men films doesn't give a fuck if it makes sense or not.

6. 'X-Men'

Leathery beginnings.

IMDB Rating: 7.4

Metacritic: 64

Tomatometer: 81

Overall: 7.3

My Opinion: 6th

They started on strong footing, ignoring the ever long reluctance to put these characters in their fucking costumes. This is back in the day where you didn't have to be rippling in muscles to play a superhero. Good ol' Hugh just looked like a fairly in shape dude.

But this did kick off an 18 year long franchise and counting.

4. 'X2' / 'Deadpool'

So many X-Men to so little X-Men.

X2

IMDB Rating: 7.5

Metacritic: 68

Tomatometer: 85

Overall: 7.6

My Opinion: 4th

Deadpool

IMDB Rating: 8

Metacritic: 65

Tomatometer: 83

Overall: 7.6

My Opinion: 5th

X2 is easily the best of the OG X-Men trilogy and Deadpool will hopefully be the worst film in a Deadpool trilogy. We deserve good things. I trust Ryan.

3. 'X-Men: First Class'

First Class get it.

IMDB Rating: 7.8

Metacritic: 65

Tomatometer: 86

Overall: 7.63

My opinion: 3rd

Darwin deserved better. He would've adapted you fuckers. Everything else is pretty great though. Especially the new main cast, all so so good. This is just a good movie through and through. It even has a fun lil bit of editing during a training montage. Love it.

2. 'X-Men: Days Of Future Past'

Mind Blown.

IMDB Rating: 8

Metacritic: 74

Tomatometer: 90

Overall: 8.13

My Opinion: 2nd

Off the bat this is a fucking great film. Xavier does a little monologue while we have a bit of world building. The ensemble of Kitty Pride, Blink, Bobby, Bishop, and more have a wonderful action scene. Our old faithfuls show up and we have a little context given to us.

Let's send Wolverine back in time.

Oh and side note, what a solid opportunity to rewrite all the X-Men timeline bullshit and bad decisions. Wonder how they'll use that.

I could run you through this movie step by step but I won't I'll just do the highlights.

James McAvoy and Nicholas Hoult have a brilliant introduction.

Mystique's just great basically all the time.

Quicksilver is wonderful.

Also I'm watching this film right, now, it's so good that I forgot I was cooking food in the oven.

Michael Fassbender is just good isn't he.

Also that slow-mo kitchen scene.

Ok, I'll stop rambling but just let it be known I love this film.

1. 'Logan'

Xbois head West.

IMDB Rating: 8.1

Metacritic: 77

Tomatometer: 93

Overall: 8.37

My Opinion: 1st

What a glorious send off for Logan and Xavier. It's just a great modern western movie. Plus Laura is brilliant.

What have we learnt?

My opinion happens to be a super basic mainstream opinion. I guess basically everyone has the same opinion on X-Men. Also isn't it old poetic that Wolverine's first solo film is the worst and his last is the best? Cute.
