I am Gillian Anderson, hear me roar. If you can't wait to see gods exhibit their mighty powers on Earth, then you aren't alone, and it looks like Bryan Fuller is back to his artistic ways with the masterfully crafted #AmericanGods. Given the recent release of the trailer, there is only one way to describe it: B-E-A-UTIFUL.

Speaking of beauty, #GillianAnderson's role as Media has been conspicuously absent from the trailers thus far. Now, sneaky Mr. Fuller has given us a sneak peek at the 48-year-old swapping Scully for Stardust, and it's possibly the best thing you will see on the internet today. Based on Neil Gaiman's acclaimed 2001 novel of the same name, American Gods is shaping up to be our latest #TV obsession, especially when you see Anderson in action!

Damn Son Anderson

The showrunner posted a cryptic tweet alongside the caption, "The many faces of media." Either Anderson is auditioning for the next season of Undercover Boss, or American Gods is teasing us with something very special indeed. Fans of the upcoming #Starz show will know that Anderson will portray the new god Media in the eight-part series, while other cast members include The 100's Ricky Whittle, Deadwood's Ian McShane, and Back to the Future's Crispin Glover. Fuller is a co-creator of the show with TV, film, and comic writer Michael Green, and Gaiman himself will serve as an executive producer.

While you still try and unjumble the "many faces" like some drunken Christmas party game, some clever so-and-so has already been on a pictorial treasure hunt. The Twitterverse has successfully deduced that Gill's dress up box contains the wears to make her look like Marilyn Monroe, David Bowie, Lucille Ball, and Judy Garland. It is a lineup that even RuPaul's Drag Race would be proud of!

Have I seen you before?

American Gods follows Whittle's Shadow Moon, an ex-con who unexpectedly meets McShane's Mr. Wednesday. If you are keeping up with ridiculous names, Wednesday is actually the Norse god Odin, and Shadow is pulled into a war between the gods of old and the gods of the 21st century. Clearly Anderson's Media is one of the new era, and she will be joined by the Technical Boy, Mr. World, and Gaiman's new creation, Vulcan — a god bound by guns.

More excitedly though, it has caused fans to furiously speculate that Media could actually appear to the rest of the cast in a variety of different forms. Media from the books often appears in the form of Lucille Ball's Lucy Ricardo from I Love Lucy, while the show has already given us a blurry promotional image of her under the guise of Marilyn. Bowie and Garland look to be new additions, so Fuller and Green could be saving her for a star-studded second trailer.

Will Anderson be doing a Lange and Sarandon on Feud, putting on her very best celebrity impressions? Personally, I already think that Gillian Anderson is the best thing since sliced avocado, but if she plays David Bowie, it could be the performance of the century; take note, Ryan Murphy. Either way, the collage of pictures has us gagging for more, so April 30 can't come soon enough.
