Film: Spider-Man (2002)

The synonymous Spider-Man phrase actually comes from “Amazing Fantasy #15" from August 1962 and wasn't spoken by either Peter Parker or Uncle Ben. An unknown narrator says "with great power there must also come — great responsibility!" However, Ben's well-known fatherly words of wisdom come in Sam Raimi's 2002 Spider-Man. Spoken by Cliff Robertson's Uncle Ben, it set the tone for Peter taking on the famous Spider-Man persona and was made all the more poignant by Ben's looming demise a few scenes later.

Shelley Duvall's time on the set of The Shining was a rocky one. If being verbally tortured by Stanley Kubrick weren't enough, the director was also known to spring surprises on the actress. One such surprise was the "Here's Johnny" scene where Duvall was unaware that Jack Nicholson was going to come smashing through the door with an axe.

It is reported that Duvall's screams of "Jack please" were aimed at Nicholson himself, whose character was coincidently called Jack too. Nicholson ad-libbed the line as an imitation of announcer Ed McMahon introducing Johnny Carson from The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson, while this one goes down as one of the greatest movie quotes of all time, not just in horror.

Couple the reveal of big bad Darth Vader as the hero's father with James Earl Jones's booming voice and you are on to a winner. Plus, Toy Story 2 used the exact same line, so bonus points for that!

Despite Patrick Swayze reportedly hating the "Nobody puts Baby in the corner" line, along with that finale lift, the movie quote is probably the best known part of Dirty Dancing. His book The Time of My Life says that the last scene underwent a lot of changes, but that he could barely bring himself to say his line. However, it is a quote that is so quotable it had a Veronica Mars episode named after it and even a Fall Out Boy song dedicated to it. While Swayze has tragically passed on, he lives on in his despised line.

I'm putting it out there, Goldfinger is my favorite Bond film, and even now, its corniness still stands the test of time. The scene where we briefly think that Sean Connery's secret agent may be sliced by a laser is perfectly balanced with the line "No Mr. Bond, I expect you to die." Sadly, credit can't go to actor Gert Fröbe, his lines were dubbed in English by Michael Collins. The Goldfinger quote went on to top numerous polls as Bond's greatest moment across the entire franchise, and it is easy to see why!

Faking an orgasm is no mean feat, we have all been there, but perhaps not in a restaurant full of people. Meg Ryan felt suitably nervous for the restaurant scene in When Harry Met Sally, so apparently director Rob Reiner told her to fake "an orgasm that King Kong would be jealous of." However, the best quote of the film goes to Reiner's actual mother with the sharp but funny "I'll have what she's having." When Estelle Reiner died at 94, The New York Times declared that she had one of the funniest lines in cinematic history. Katz Deli itself still hangs the sign "Where Harry met Sally... hope you have what she had!"
