So all of these are pretty awesome movies. They are all spy movies but have a different type of genre from intensely serious to funny and cliche. Hope that these suit your fancy in your search for a good spy movie.

'American Assassin'

This movie is awesome! It is based off of a book series by Vince Flynn. It is about a regular guy who loves a regular girl. They go on vacation and are then attacked by a terrorist group and the girl gets killed. Mitch Rapp, the regular guy, decides to go after this group and learns everything he can about them. He is then scouted by the government because they have been noticing his illegal activity dealing with terrorists.

The movie is very intense and you get to see Dylan O'Brien in a different way. It's a good way though. He is moving up as an actor. This movie didn't do very well and I don't know why. It is freakin' fantastic.

'Mission Impossible'

I included this just as MissionImpossible because there are so many spy movies that I wanted to include that including all of these movies would have been too much. Since 1996, Tom Cruise has been showing us that he is a great actor that can do cool stunts and be awesome! The newest one coming out is called Fallout. Superman is in it and I'm stoked! Ha! But it has a lot of action and espionage. And there are many so if you don't want to watch one, there are many more.

'Bourne'

Same as above, I didn't want to include all the Bourne movies because there are too many. Matt Damon plays Jason Bourne. Jason Bourne does not know that he is Jason Bourne. He also works for a secret government team. This movie involves Jason uncovering the truth about who he is/was and why he needs to shut the government now. There are also many to choose from. There is even one with Jeremy Renner! Didn't do as well, but still good!

'True Lies'

The good old days with Arnold Schwarzenegger. I finally know how to spell his name! He plays a spy that keeps it from his family, like all spies do. His wife finds out and his family gets in the mess of a mission that involves terrorists. It's pretty hilarious and intense. Jamie Lee Curtis is in it and she is awesome! To get some older looking movies and hilarious actors from decades ago, this is the one.

'Tomb Raider'

So this isn't really a spy movie, but Lara Croft keeps a lot of secrets and can fight really well, so pretty much a spy movie. Whether you like the Angelina Jolie movies or the newest one with Alicia Vikander, Lara Croft is a boss. Also, Alicia Vikander is in many spy movies. So is Jolie. They are pretty awesome! But the movie's description is in the title. They raid tombs for relics to keep safe. It is also based off a video game and book.

'The Man from U.N.C.L.E'

Now, this is a very underrated spy movie. It is very well done, hilarious, and action-based. It has Armie Hammer, Henry Cavill, and Alicia Vikander cast in the leads. They are each spies from a different agency around the world put together to solve a case. It is very fun to watch and has a very fun wardrobe and soundtrack.

'Kingsman'

This has two movie installments and it is very good. It's about a spy agency called Kingsman that is in England. They go around the world to save the bigger picture. Eggsy is a part of that and he is training to become the next member in Kingsman, if he doesn't die first. He gets caught up in a mission that could be his way in. It is a really fun movie that has Samuel L. Jackson in it and has some killer action scenes that are in slow-mo.

'James Bond'

All the James Bond movies are awesome. There are different James Bond lead actors so if you are wanting one then there are probably three movies with that lead actor. James Bond is legendary and has very many iconic lines, scenes, and beginning credits. It is definitely worth the watch if you haven't seen any before.

'Mr. and Mrs. Smith'

Jane and John are both on separate missions in some country. Both unaware that either is a spy. They fall in love, get married, and live together. Both their agencies give them the same job, however, to kill one guy in hoping that they end up killing each other. Which they almost do. Then they rekindle their love and fight back. I wonder if that's what will happen to them in real life.

'Austin Powers'

"Oh, behave!" Mike Myers is a classic in these Austin Powers movies. He is a spy for the British and faces foes like Dr. Evil and his Mini-Me. It's a particular humor, so some people might not like it. It's pretty funny though and has some very interesting scenes.

'Spy Kids'

So, the only reason I put these movies on this list is because they're awesome. I grew up with these movies and they are priceless. Even though they are super cliche and silly, they are still about spies and the cool things they can do. There are a few installments in this movie franchise and the fourth one is the worst. For some reason, Jessica Alba, who is a great actress, can't act as a pregnant spy.

But anyway, it just follows these two kids who are becoming spies like their parents.

'Salt'

Angelina Jolie is in another spy movie and it is good. A Russian spy comes to the U.S. to tell the government of a spy in their ranks. They think that it is Jolie, Evelyn Salt. She escapes hoping to prove her innocence, which may or may not make it worse. She is thrust into her past life and tries to forget it. But is she still stuck in her Russian roots?

'Bridge of Spies'

Every time I've attempted to watch this movie I get really tired and fall asleep. It's not that it's boring, it's just a lot of talking and figuring out who did what. It's from the Cold War about a Brooklyn lawyer thrust into a case that may hurt his career. A Soviet spy is captured by the Americans and they are trying to facilitate a trade for one of their own. It is based off of a true story.

'Snowden'

This really isn't a spy movie either, but it is based off of a hacker working for the government who uncovers secrets. He shares these secrets with the people and the government isn't happy. He isn't a spy but it gets intense when he starts to keep the government's secrets for himself to share with the people. It gets pretty intense and you wonder if the government is going to kill him. This is a true story that is very real and very true. He is also living in Russia currently because while he lives there the American government can't arrest him.

'Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy'

I actually haven't seen this movie, but I heard that it is very good. It has a lot of good actors in it who are critically acclaimed. It takes place during the Cold War and it's about a retired veteran who comes back to uncover a Soviet agent. It is full of intense scenes, puzzles, and paranoia. It is also based off of a classical-selling novel.

'Johnny English'

Johnny English is another funny spy movie with the infamous Mr. Bean. English is a spy that is so stupid you wonder how he solves cases. There are two movies that English is in and they are hilarious. They remind me of the PinkPanther movies with Steve Martin, which are also very good movies that will make you laugh.

'Ace Ventura'

Now, this really isn't a spy movie, but Jim Carrey goes undercover in these movies. He is a pet detective. If you liked Jim back when he was funny then you'll love these movies! He is hilarious and very intelligent for playing an idiot! But he goes around saving animals that are missing and loves each animal, except for bats.

'This Means War'

In this show, two spies are in love with one woman. They try to fight each other to win her affection. The only problem is they are both best friends and very good at killing people. Who will the girl choose? Reese Witherspoon has to choose between Tom Hardy and Chris Pine. That would be a hard decision for me to make.
