Where do I begin with this series? I am super biased with this particular series. I have a tattoo of the quote above actually, it's hard not to love this series. But let me jump into the trilogy, and novelette.

  • A Court of Thorns and Roses; Released May 5th, 2015
  • A Court of Mist and Fury; May 3rd, 2016
  • A Court of Wings and Ruin; May 2nd, 2017
  • A Court of Frost and Starlight; May 1st, 2018

The books so far in the series and their original release dates are above, along with the reading order, you're welcome. There has been talk of three more spin off books coming to this series, and possibly a fourth book. (YAASSSSSS), sorry fangirl moment, anyways.

Back to Acotar; I loved this series, and I read it through suuuuper quickly. It became one of my top three series by the time I was half way into the first book. It's a story of Faeiries and high Fae and boy let me tell you, strap in, its a crazy ride.

The story follows a young lady by the name of Feyre Archerson, complete and total badass might I add. She lives in a small village with her family, who are very poor. She hunts for them to eat and survive, but her whole world will turn upside down very quickly. I don't want to spoil too much here so I'll keep that part brief.

But to say the least and give nothing away, Feyre gets pulled into something she wasn't ready for, and something it takes her a while to fully understand. Over the course of the three books this strange world changes her, and her family. As that unfolds you will get more and more sucked in.

The first book (ACOTAR) has no shortage of excitement and drama, and possibly love!? Who would have thought with a young adult novel!? From a crazed lovebird, and a crazy sex ritual, this book came across as different than anything I've ever read before. With battles and a crazy survival game later, we head into the second book.

The second book (ACOMAF) is where soooooo much happens it's rather hard to pin point where or how everything takes place, maybe its time for another rereading!

But we start back with Feyre and her "love interest" that will continue to be unnamed. It becomes a real hot mess in her life and shit kinda hits the fan, but you will have many gushy, fangirl squealing moments. You can never have enough of those! then more drama happens, love, hate, anger, betrayal, a very smutty chapter later, a war breaks out! More drama and crying, (yes you will be crying at this point), and then when all seems lost there will be a glimmer of hope, (maybe). Then we move into the third book.

In the third book (ACOWAR), it literally in the abbreviation says WAR. So what can you expect? An amazing battle with craziness, duh. With more smutty scenes, betrayals, escapes, and some family bonding time, this book will make you cry probably the most. You'll most likely need to set the book down and cry before continuing at some point, and you will be very confused on who you root for in all these love triangles going on. It's a grand old time, enjoy the ride!

Then we get to the novelette (ACOFAS). It's short, sweet, and leaves you aching for more. In this short, VERY SHORT, writing, you will read of love, frustrations, and adjusting after the war in various characters points of view. It's beautiful, but it still wont make you cry as much as ACOWAR the third book. Just trying to still mentally prepare you here. But this does set up really well for the spin- off books Maas has written for us. Personally, I can't wait!

But if your looking for a sign to read the ACOTAR series, here is your sign. Read it you wont regret it. With juicy love triangles to tense love, to war and that smut I keep referring too, you will fall in love with these character, and who they end up growing into. It is a journey and you really do feel like you are right there with them through it all. It's so worth the read. Thanks for listening to me ramble/ Gush over this series! Let me know of you want to hear me ramble about more books or series!

*Disclaimer* This is all in good fun, I loved these books, and anyone who has read the series might love that I used the word "smut" and some might not. I couldn't find another word to describe certain parts of the series (you totally know what I'm referring to *cough, cough* chapter 55 *cough, cough*), and this was also done very quickly to got me writing again, but all an all I hope you enjoyed this read. If you haven't read the books, I am so serious, it is a really good series and highly recommend it!! Thank you all.
