2015 served up one of the brightest and most comical movies of the MCU in Ant-Man, which saw Michael Douglas slick his hair back, straighten his tie, and polish his glasses to take on the role of the former Ant-Man. He was joined by Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, the latest man to don the Ant-Man suit, and Evangeline Lily as Hope van Dyne, Pym's daughter and a board member of his company. Van Dyne in particular will come into her own as the titular wasp in highly anticipated sequel, Ant-Man and the Wasp.

With #AntManandtheWasp's 2018 release date fast approaching, the cast are reuniting to begin work on the sequel; Michael Douglas was recently spotted at LAX ahead of filming, according to The Daily Mail. So, as the trinity unite and the camera starts to roll, here's what you need to know about Ant-Man and the Wasp.

1. Evangeline Lilly has teased the costume for The Wasp.

Evangeline Lilly has already been fitted for her outfit, as she prepares to take on the role of The Wasp and work side by side with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) in the sequel. In the comics, The Wasp is also an integral part of The #Avengers.

While we've only got a glimpse of the concept art for her outfit, it looks spot on so far.

2. 'Ant-Man and The Wasp' could be taking on Hannah John-Kamen as Dawn Star.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has a lot of concepts to work with, and it's rumored that Hannah John-Kamen has signed up to play as Dawn in Ant-Man and the Wasp. Dawn is described as “charismatic, eccentric, unpredictable, and damaged,” which had led many to believe Dawn is Dawn Starr, Spider-Man's one-time, test-cheating college girlfriend.

While this certainly sets her up to be a villain, if she is indeed Dawn Starr, she could be bringing a much worse threat along with her. The Starr surname is notable, as it's shared with Elihas Starr, a.k.a. Egghead, a notorious #AntMan villain. If Hannah John-Kamen is playing Dawn Starr, she could very well bring this troublesome villain with her.

3. Peyton Reed will direct.

As many of us know, Edgar Wright was slated to direct Ant-Man, but left due to creative differences, leaving Peyton Reed at the helm. Reed got everything right, and he did a solid job with the first film. Now, Edgar Wright is enjoying the success of his latest movie Baby Driver, and Reed has returned for Ant-Man and the Wasp.

David Dastmalchian, who plays Kurt, hasn't been quiet about just how big this movie will be with Peyton Reed at its helm. He's even teased that #Marvel will doing some mind-blowing things in this movie, which should excite fans and prepare them for some large scale events.

“I can say Ant-Man & The Wasp is going to do things in the Marvel universe that they haven’t gotten an opportunity to do yet and I just got some tidbits the other day and they’re mind-blowing. It’s going to be really cool.”

As if Scott Lang turning into a gigantic Ant-Man wasn't freaking cool or mind-blowing enough. We can only wonder what David is hinting at for the next movie. Maybe we'll get to see Ant-Man bake mini-waffles for his ants! With filming starting this month, we can only wait to see what Peyton Reed and the cast have to show us.
