Awake? This Is Why You Should Watch 'Atlanta'

A Woke Empath's Third Eye Perspective

As a newly awakened empath, I am extremely sensitive to the harsh violence and petty drama that comes along with watching TV and movies. However, I love watching consciously written movies and TV. For some reason, I am most attracted to dark comedies because they remind me of my most recent life which has been both comedic and sad, dark and light.

So when Atlanta hit the screen last year, I was ecstatic. Not only do I love the duality that I tend to only find in dark comedies, I also have a fascination with the city. Growing up in the Deep South, the city of Atlanta was one of the closest and coolest bigger cities in the area. My dad moved there when I was in middle school so it became something like a second home to me growing up. My dad lived in Midtown, right down the street from the Fox Theater, the Varsity and Piedmont Park. Every Memorial Day weekend we would walk over to the park and hang out at the jazz festival.

During the year of my 22nd birthday, my father suffered a stroke. I graduated from The University of Alabama that year and then moved to the great city of Atlanta, which in my mind, reminds me of the lost city of Atlantis. While it was an incredibly sad and depressing year, it was one that propelled my growth. Luckily, my oldest sister also lived in Atlanta, she tucked me under her wing and gave me a place to live until I found my first job out of college. Atlanta was definitely the place to be if you were an aspiring musician or entrepreneur. As an entrepreneur and charismatic CEO of a bio hazardous disaster relief company, my father, who passed a few years ago, had proven that it was the place to be. Atlanta has always represented something pretty fucking great, especially for people of color.

From a person that is on a fully awakened journey, I’ve begun to notice several synchronicities that are happening within my life play out on both the big and small screen. For instance, in episode two of season two, Earn has obvious moments of derealization. Just a few weeks prior, I personally experienced very similar moments. Perhaps Donald Glover’s character, Earn, is also having a spiritual awakening. Also, since season one, I’ve been seeking to understand the hidden message behind the backwards or reverse flow within the show’s original promo. Only recently have I been able to decode the message behind the unique reel.

What I can tell you is that the writers of this show are trying to share with you a very important message. If you think that parts of this show are too harsh to watch, watch it anyway because being enlightened is knowing exactly how much you don’t know. Some may not understand the meaning of the moment, at the moment and might write it off as weird, but this is exactly why being enlightened means understanding how much you don’t know. Don’t dismiss what you do not understand. Isn't learning really just a part of life?

Within the show, my favorite character, Darius has obviously gone through his own transformation, or maybe he is in the middle of one this season. My intuition tells me that he is definitely an empath. In the first episode (Alligator Man), Darius has the ability to sense the sour energy that Uncle Willy, played by Katt Williams, projects. He has likely sensed that Uncle Willy (Katt Williams) was a narcissistic psychopath, as any morally sane, empathic person would. I would not be surprised if he began to develop some sort of expressive art form before the end of season two.

Also, in season two episode two, Darius pre-cognitively clasps his hands together as to be praying that the guy that he just introduced to Paperboi (Brian Tyree Henry), does not turn out to be another psycho-fan.

If you are also, a newly awakened empath, I encourage you to research the different types of empaths in order to continue your soul growth and develop your gift. And check out my latest review on the hit show, Atlanta at Empath Discovery on YouTube.
