Buffy's Drusilla Is Crowdfunding The Ultimate Vampire Documentary With Joss Whedon & Tim Burton!

The legend of the vampire is one that has resonated through the ages. The legend speaks to countless passions and desires, adding an evocative layer of supernatural horror to issues of loss, grief, passion, obsession, and desire. John Polidori kicked off modern vampiric fiction way back in 1819, but of course, it was Bram Stoker's Dracula that captured the world's imagination!

Now, Juliet Landau — who you may remember as Drusilla, from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel — is working on a fascinating new vampiric project...

What Is 'A Place Among The Undead'?

The idea is hauntingly simple. Juliet Landau is heading up a project to produce the documentary to end all documentaries: a creative new project to examine the legend of the vampire. The team has been self-funding for some time, but the documentary has just continued to grow beyond belief.

"The movie transcends the idea of a traditional documentary. It's a tapestry with interlinking narrative films inspired by the conversation. These films range in tone from dark, scary, sad, to sexy, romantic, and funny."

So far, this fascinating project includes interviews with:

• Tim Burton (The Nightmare Before Christmas, Dark Shadows)
• Joss Whedon (creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel)
• Anne Rice (Interview with the Vampire)
• Charlaine Harris (whose books inspired True Blood)

Let's face it, Juliet Landau is the perfect woman to take center-stage in this unique documentary. Her Drusilla was eerie and terrifying. Her insanity made her wonderfully unpredictable, and she was easily one of the most dangerous foes Buffy and Angel ever faced. She clearly has the contacts you'd need for a project like this — she worked with Joss Whedon, but it's also no coincidence that she's already gotten an interview with Tim Burton (Landau co-starred in Burton's Ed Wood).
