Christopher Nolan Set to Make the Richest Deal Agreement Since Peter Jackson for His Upcoming Wwii Epic 'Dunkirk'

You know what Christopher Nolan needs more of? Money.

Thankfully, his upcoming project Dunkirk will grant him that need and then some.

Dunkirk is one of the most highly anticipated films of next year and a majority of that anticipation is simply due to the fact that it is Nolan's next directing gig since his smash sci-fi hit Interstellar in 2014. Little is known about the film except for the barebones of the plot, that is British forces embark on a mission to evacuate Allied troops from Dunkirk, France in 1940. Dunkirk also boasts an A-List cast including Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy, Kenneth Branagh, last year's Oscar winner for Best Supporting Actor, Mark Rylance, and Harry Styles.

Nolan's Payday For Dunkirk

THR reports that Nolan is set to receive a cool $20 million upfront for the WWII epic and will also receive 20% of the film's gross. A couple weeks ago I wrote about the highest paid movie roles in history and one similar thread many of these roles had was the fact that certain actors were given a gross percentage of the film's whatever-it-may-be. Christopher Nolan has been around for awhile and has arguably reached the levels of Tom Cruise in terms of name recognition, so it is not the least bit surprising that he wanted to make the most off his name as well as the immense hype surrounding Dunkirk.

Peter Jackson's Payday For King Kong

In Alfio Leotta's novel Peter Jackson, Leotta discusses Jackson's payday for 2005's King Kong and it was not too shabby! Universal agreed on a deal to pay Jackson & his team of screenwriters $20 million along with 20% of the film's gross which "was tied to completing the film at the agreed budget of US$175 million." When all was said and done, the final budget came in at $207 million... It was reported that, "Jackson had to pay for the bulk of the remaining US$32 million necessary to complete" the 2005 monster epic and the film went on to gross $550.5 million at the box office.

I will certainly be one of the first in line to see Dunkirk thus I will contribute to a percentage of the film's gross profits... You're welcome, Chris.
