Fan-Made Video Spoofs 'Logan' Post-Credits Scene

Later this week Logan will premiere in theaters everywhere, marking the final time Hugh Jackman will portray the iconic character from Marvel comics. Being the last time Jackman will brandish Wolverine's claws, the movie has also been set up to give Wolverine and Jackman himself a worthy sendoff. Jackman has done an amazing job with the character over the past 17 years and deserves a fitting farewell in his last time out as the #Wolverine.

Fan-Made Video Depicts Post-Credits Scene To 'Logan' Featuring Deadpool

Most fans were expecting #Logan to feature a post-credits scene (like every X-Men movie in the past), but that doesn't appear to be the case. The director of Logan, James Mangold, made it clear that there wouldn't be a post-credits sequence in Logan. That, however, didn't stop a fan from staging a recording of the post-credits scene anyway.

The video is a fan-made creation of Youtube user Curly McLane, who brilliantly thought of staging a leaked look at the Logan post-credits scene.

In a time where post-credits scenes being leaked to the public has become commonplace, the ingenious creator behind the fake scene took that idea to heart. There's no questioning how authentic the video appears at first glance, but it's the conclusion that drowns away its authenticity.

Upon witnessing Thor's hammer flying into view, it's at that point in the video that the fan-made aspect becomes apparent. Still, the video is an entertaining take on the usual post-credits scenes for superhero movies. Had the fan-made video concluded with Deadpool meeting Cable, the video might have gone viral since the team-up of these two X-Men's Cinematic Universe characters has long been asked for.

Regardless of its authenticity, this fan-made post-credits scene to Logan presents an interesting look at how the X-Men and the Avengers might set up a crossover in the future. A post-credits scene would seem the most plausible and ideal way to tease a crossover between the two separate properties.

How possible is a crossover between the X-Men and The Avengers?

As for how possible that scenario is at the moment is still to be determined. Since the Avengers and the #XMen are owned by two different proprietary owners (Fox and Disney), the two superhero teams cannot intermingle or crossover in any regard.

On the other hand, there has been some development of a budding relationship between Fox and Disney with their Marvel television series, Legion. The Legion TV series is being spearheaded by Fox, but #MarvelStudios (the subsidiary of Disney) is co-producing the series alongside Fox's team. That said, this growing relationship between Fox and Disney could be a small hint at what's to come.

When we look at how the two studios are finally willing to work together, it probably means both studios are negotiating the use of other properties as well. Purely speculative, but in the scenario a crossover taking place, the most logical option would be to intermingle the X-Men into Disney's established universe, the #MCU.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is currently home to the Avengers, it's also the perfect arena to introduce new characters like the X-Men. Some could argue that it would be better to see the Avengers crossover into the X-Men Cinematic Universe, but that prospect doesn't seem viable after the massive changes made to the X-Men Cinematic Universe in the past.

Regardless of theories, there won't be a crossover between the X-Men and the Avengers anytime soon. Until Fox and Disney come to an agreement that allows both studios to utilize all properties under the Marvel brand, a crossover isn't possible. Neither studio is willing to compromise on the use of the Avengers, the X-Men, or the Fantastic Four, so there's no possibility of the crossover ever taking place — yet.
