Is Dave Chappelle Filming a New Comedy Special In 2017?

Out of all the comedians to announce a comedy tour this year, it was quite a surprise to hear Dave Chappelle is preparing to go on tour once again. Chappelle has made appearances in small venue comedy clubs in the past few years but he hasn't made any featured appearances since his exit from Chappelle's Show back in 2003.

Chappelle did however host an episode of Saturday Night Live late last year which apparently invigorated the veteran comedian enough that he's now moving forward with a comedy tour this year.

Those are just the tour dates announced so far but we should expect more to be announced soon. More importantly, a #comedy tour might not be the only thing Dave Chappelle is doing while on the road.

There's a very good possibility that Dave Chappelle is also filming a new comedy special while on tour. Many comedians take the advantage of being on tour to film a comedy special at the same time. They simply utilize a venue setup for a mere comedy show and film the performance as is.

The prospect of Dave Chappelle filming a new comedy special isn't a certainty at the moment but it's definitely plausible. Considering Chappelle's eagerness to make his name known again, an opportunity to film a comedy special will likely be used to his advantage.
