Logan's Escape

Logan was lying on his bed looking at the ceiling. A lot was going through his mind, but the most dominant thought was the uncertainty of what would happen if he ran away. He knew that he couldn't exactly run away since Thomas and the others need him, but he wondered what would happen if they were actual humans, and their actions didn't impact Thomas heavily. He was fully aware that he wasn't very sympathetic or fun in the eyes of the others, so he sometimes wondered if the others would feel differently if he were to disappear. Maybe he could disappear to another planet if he had the right resources and education to accomplish such a feat.

If he were to bypass the g-forces that were to await him while he left the atmosphere, he would be able to venture off into the cosmos, and maybe even look back at the blue and green sphere behind him as it just becomes an infinitesimal dot in his view. He'd wonder how different the life of his family would be, but it would soon be overtaken by his curiosities and by the intrigue of the surrounding space and objects that he remembered a certain meerkat underestimating by passing them off as fireflies. If he were lucky, he might even be able to find an undiscovered planet that would be stable enough for him to land on, and explore with the right supplies in his possession.

Now, he may not have been Virgil, but he was also not Roman, so he would certainly take caution when exiting his rocket and exploring the new environment, but not to the point where he'd rush back into the rocket after less than a minute. Like Sherlock, he would survey the environment and take notes from context clues to get a better understanding of what to expect from the new planet, and figure out how long he would want to stay there.

Along the way, he might find an abnormal creature, or maybe it would find him. Once again, he was not Roman, so he wouldn't immediately attack it without getting further information. However, he wasn't like Patton, so he wouldn't exactly be ready to greet it with open arms, even if this creature recognized such as a loving gesture. Once enough context clues and information was gathered, he would be able to meet the creature halfway with communication. He would follow the creature to its civilization, and they would both use their middle-ground methods to inform the civilization that he was not a threat.

Logan would steadily teach his ways to the community, and find ways to explain to them that there's a diverse array of creatures where he was from, but there were those who won't likely reach the point of being completely accepting until after getting to know them better. For once he would admit that he doesn't have all the answers, but that a small group of the community at a time working to blend in with his own civilization might be able to help them adjust. He would admit that not everyone will be completely trusting, but not everyone on his planet would be distrusting, either, and the last part of his remark would cause him to think about his family once again. Oh, how much dopamine he would receive if he were to show his family what he was to accomplish, how much dopamine he would receive from being taken more seriously, how much dopamine he would receive from... being heard.

"Hey, Lo, 'The Martian' is on. You want to watch it with me?"

As Logan was snapped out of his daydream by the voice of his love, he knew that, even though there would be those who would brush him off or fall asleep when he performs a lecture, there was always one person who would make him feel heard. He would acknowledge and appreciate it as he cuddles with that person during their movie.
