Mighty Tiny Thrills!

Well, we are barely a week since the launch of The Avengers: Infinity War and Marvel Studios are already biting at the bit to tell us more about their next installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And, quite surprisingly, it is Ant-Man and the Wasp.

That’s right, Marvel has just dropped the latest teaser trailer for the movie and it looks bigger, bolder and even more explosive than before.

The trailer showcases a whole heap more screen time, plot hints and even more character confirmation/reveals, including Giant-Man (Lang's slightly taller, identity). In Ant-Man and the Wasp, get ready for an adventure that is slicker than ever with smooth moves, quirky quips and monstrous thrills.

It’s an all-new chapter for master thief Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) and the gang. In the aftermath of Captain America: Civil War, (No spoilers) Scott Lang, armed with the astounding ability to shrink in size but increase in strength, is struggling to balance the responsibilities of being a Super Hero and that of being a father. Just as Scott begins to get his life in order, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) crash back into his life with another mission that will force Ant-Man to, yet again, have to save the world.

The movie’s new bad-guy is aptly called Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), and as such is able to phase shift.

In addition, to the talented Michael Douglas, we see the introduction of a few new faces, including Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Pfeiffer (original Wasp, Janet Van Dyne), and Randall Park (who plays a SHIELD agent).

The trailer, itself, featured below reveals that we can look forward to another funny, action-packed adventure that brings back all our favourite characters and personalities, and that includes his lovable, mildly competent, band of burglars.

Ant-Man and The Wasp will once again be directed by Peyton Reed. He returns as head honcho, after taking over from Edgar Wright, just months before production began.

Reed recently stated in an interview with Modern Myth Media that he wants Ant-Man and the Wasp to work together, as a team. "For me, as a comic nerd, I have always thought of Ant-Man and Wasp as a team," he said. "That's a lot of what the second movie is really about--how they work together, and what their personal and professional relationships are like.”

He went on to talk about his delight and passion for the Wasps character development and how he plans to have her portray a character that is just important and influential as Ant-Man. "To show her finally fully formed in this movie is really exciting. We really get to introduce this character into that universe. To me she's not a supporting character in this movie. It's every bit as much her movie as it is Scott Lang's."

Timeline (what we can make of the apparent, ever-confusing Marvel timeline)?

OK, so, it is somewhat confusing, I know, but that’s Marvel. You should know by now, if you are a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, that they are certainly not chronological (cinematic release). And, you can not expect Ant-Man and the Wasp to be the follow up to The Avenger: Infinity War.

Despite Ant-Man being a founding member of The Avengers, In actual fact, Ant-Man and The Wasp is set before The Avengers: Infinity War. Lang would have even more trouble balancing the Super Hero lifestyle and fatherhood if he had Captain America and Tony Stark breathing down his neck, too.

Ant-Man and the Wasp will release in theatres on July 6. For more fun Marvel movie news, features and videos, keep it locked into Vocal – your number one destination for all things SUPER.
