It's time to start the hype machine turning once again as filming gets underway on the MCU's mysterious fourth Avengers movie. While supes fans still patiently wait for an Infinity War trailer, there is no rest for the wicked as Disney powers ahead with its all-star sequel. We may still be years away from our heroes' second clash with the Mad Titan Thanos, but now one of the movie's biggest names has confirmed that #IronMan will be back in #Avengers4.

Getting 'Downey' With The Kids

Taking to Instagram, #RobertDowneyJr shared a behind-the-scenes snap from the Avengers 4 set in Atlanta and confirmed that the red and gold Goliath will be suiting up for Thanos's final showdown in 2019.

It is also important to note that Downey Jr. inadvertently confirms the return of other Avengers favorites like Ant-Man, Black Widow, and Captain America. This means that Paul Rudd, Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Evans will also be back for more.

Given that Downey Jr. effectively started the MCU with Iron Man back in 2008, it was always to be expected that he would make it out of the events of #InfinityWar alive. Whether or not he can make it to the credits of Avengers 4 remains to be seen, but with high hopes for a fourth Iron Man solo film, here's betting that Tony Stark will live to fight another day — if only to rescue that godawful Mandarin plot from Iron Man 3.

Even with Steve Rogers back for Avengers 4, many are tipping that it will be Cap to drop his shield forever and depart the two-movie saga in a body bag. Everyone is promising some major deaths in the next two Avengers movies, but it is technically still anyone's guess on who will kick the bucket ahead of the MCU's Phase 4.

Elsewhere, we already know that Brie Larson's Captain Marvel will finally get to join Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Avengers 4, and that things will never be the same for our MCU marvels after Thanos puts on his bejeweled glove to try and take over the galaxy. As for more spoilerific tidbits, it will likely be a continuing theme of set leaks and shared pictures from now until filming wraps on Avengers 4. Only recently we saw the tease of Jeremy Renner taking on his Ronin persona, while a funeral casting call also alludes to that promised specter of death looming over the movie. What the plot of Avengers 4 will involve remains to be seen, but with Infinity War coming in May 2018, expect the future of Kevin Feige's universe to become a lot clearer in the coming months.
