The MCU's Strongest 7

The #MarvelCinematicUniverse will be growing exponentially, as we head towards Infinity War and beyond.

This means that even more powerful beings will be in the world with earth's mightiest heroes! With the likes of Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Black Bolt, Thanos... Can you imagine anyone more powerful than Thanos?!?

But wait! Before we get to that, let's take a tally on who the most powerful beings in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are so far. In no particular order...

Now this one we have to take on assumption, because while the comics have presented him as an immeasurably powerful villain, the #MCU has yet to show his strength. But have no doubt that Thanos is easily one of the most powerful characters in the MCU (and once he gets all of those Infinity Gems, there will be no doubt).

To date, this HYDRA-enhanced human has shown her main powers to be telepathy and multi-ranging telekinesis (along with psionic bolts, energy shields, and levitating). I mean, she can read minds and project thoughts into people... not to mention that she was one of the biggest concerns in the Slovakia Accords. She may not have been the only reason Civil War happened, but I'll bet that she blames herself all the same. In the comics, her abilities also allowed her to use mystic energy to create reality-altering effects. You can be sure that we'll see Scarlet Witch’s powers develop further as we see the MCU grow into Phase 4.

This one should be a no-brainer. As we discovered in The Avengers, Bruce Banner has the ability to voluntarily transform into his Hulk form (and apparently Black Widow has the "power" to transform him back... I'm hoping Thor: Ragnarok corrects that forced love angle). As the Hulk, he has incredible super-strength and durability which has enabled him to go head-to-head with some of the others on this list. And let's not forget that Bruce Banner has even tried to end his own life, but couldn't because of The Hulk's power and indomitable will to live.

Another given, perhaps, but Thor's god-like attributes not only make him one of the most powerful forces on the Avengers, but also in Asgard. His powers, which are fairly aligned with his gamma-radiated compadre, are super strength, speed, durability, agility and stamina. Along with his fighting skills, speedy healing, and a longer lifespan than most others, (did we mention Mjolnir?) Thor is easily one of the most powerful in the MCU.

The MCU has given us a little different twist to this hero than the comics did, which gives us some insight into how powerful he actually is. Created by Ultron as a body for him to be more powerful, Vision has the Mind Stone implanted into the head of his synthetic body. Let's review: Ultron = Strong. Mind Stone = Infinity Gem. Vision is out of this world powerful, based on that alone.

Vision's abilities include flight, phasing through objects, shooting energy blasts, a vibranium-enhanced body (a.k.a. the strongest metal in the MCU), and connecting to other computer systems (because he's A.I.). Let's not forget--he's worthy to wield Thor’s hammer! Few other's can claim such power in the MCU.

While many believe him to be dead, as suggested by the ending of Thor: The Dark World, I think that we have more to see from the All-Father in future films.

Odin is the ruling god of Asgard who has the ability to depower Thor at will and easily took on the Ice Giants (as seen in the beginning of Thor). While the MCU has given us very little to actually believe that Odin is this powerful, given his comic history and the awe-inspiring presence he has among the Asgardians, you can bet he belongs on this list.

I hesitated putting Kurse on this list, particularly as Thor: The Dark World was my least favorite MCU film, but of all the villains we have seen thus far Kurse has to be one of the most powerful. With nothing but his strength, he could throw Thor around like a rag doll and take on more people at once than any other villain we've seen. Not only that, but he could take direct shots from Mjolnir without blinking. I mean, he deflected and misdirected that stupid hammer... If that doesn't prove his power, I don't know what does.
