I woke up on a bright, beautiful morning as the sunlight shone through the window above my bed. There was a little white letter at the door to my room. My dog, Asher, must have brought it to me from the front door earlier that night. Yawning, I got out of bed to obtain the letter. The words "Urgent: Jessica's Exploration Team is Needed" were present on the back. Excited, I opened the letter and saw my bosses cursive hand writing.

"Hello, Jessica. Sorry for the sudden request, but I need you to explore a cave for me. I've been hearing rumors about its existence and its name is lingering in my memory. I don't know its exact location, but I will tell you that it is near the Woods. I need your team to pack up for the exploration. You will be heading out tomorrow. Good luck."

"Asher, go get the phone!" I say with a vast smile upon my face. I couldn't wait to tell Sparky and Trevs!

"Alright, team, we're here!"

"But all I see is a waterfall and a bunch of trees..." replied Sparky. His nickname is Sparky because of his sudden bursts of excitement on missions.

"'Rissa, have you had any visions?" questioned Trevs. I have a rare ability. We call it the Dark Flash. If I touch something of importance, I undergo a dizzy spell and a vision or voices will appear or become audible in my head.

"Let me touch the waterfall," I said as I watched the tons of water pounding down in front of us.

"Are you crazy? You'll get crushed!" fought Sparky.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine!" I ran towards the torrent of a waterfall before either of them could stop me. Then I reached my hand out and felt a horrible pain jolt through my arm as the water threatened to crush it. Soon, I felt a strange dizziness fall upon me and I was out like a light. Then the flash began.

A strange black figure approached the waterfall. It looked around as if it was watching carefully to see if anyone was observing it. Then it jumped right into the waterfall. The vision was over and I awoke.

"Are you okay? Is your arm broken?" Sparky grabbed my arm and started examining it.

"The entrance to the cave is behind the waterfall!" Both Sparky and Trevs looked at me in astonishment.

"You expect us to jump through tons of water crashing down just to test your theory?" Trevs had a look of terror on his face. I nodded.

"On three, okay?" We lined up about ten feet from the waterfall. "One... Two....... THREE!" We ran as fast as we could towards the waterfall and jumped. I half expected to hit rock, but instead I kept going and landed on dirt. Spitting dirt out of my mouth, I looked around in a daze.

"Oh, my sweet Mother Mary..." gasped Sparky.

"W-what is all of this?" Trevs said, stammering to get off of his knees.

"This is Crystal Cave..." There were jewels everywhere, each on a different assortment of colors. There were red, orange, pink, blue, clear, purple, green, and even black jewels. I picked one up and stared at it, wide eyed with amazement. "Well, I suppose we should stuff our pockets and explore the cave."

I got up and moved forward. The deeper we got, the more jewels there were, encrusted in the ground and the walls of the cave. Then we turned a corner and reached a dead end.

"That's the biggest jewel I've ever seen in my life!" Sparky ran towards it. Groaning in effort, he tried to remove it from its place in the ground, but it wasn't moving. He even tried to push it out. It was as tall as he was.

"Let me try." I approached the jewel, bewildered at its enormous size. As soon as I touched it, my vision went black in another dizzy spell. The same black figure that I saw jump through the waterfall approached the jewel. As I looked closer, I realized that the figure resembled my boss. Wondering why my boss would send us on a mission to an area he had already explored, I watched as he pulled the jewel towards him. It moved! Then I heard a strange rumbling and I awoke.

"Maybe if I pull the jewel..." said Sparky.

"Sparky, no!!!" It was too late. He had already pulled it. The same rumbling sound reverberated around us in the cave and got louder and louder. Then I looked to the left as I see a rush of water turn a sharp corner and speed towards us.

"Wah! Run!" The water picked us up and carried us. It threatened to drown me. I went under a few times. Then we were falling, falling out of a smaller waterfall. Next thing I knew we were all sitting in the grass wondering what just happened.

"Boss, did you already explore that cave?" I questioned.

"Maybe...I can't quite remember." I strained my memory, pondering the black figure.
