5 Day TV Challenge: A Show I Binged Watched In One Sitting

I've had my moments where I stopped, looked at myself in the mirror and asked: "how did I let it come to this?" That's what happened when I powered through the entirety of From Dusk Till Dawn's first season in a binge-watching frenzy. I'm sure it's because I have an addictive personality because, to be honest, it took me a while to actually get into the show. Admittedly, I've never seen the original movie. My frame of reference for this show was Tumblr and its many GIF sets of this gorgeous woman dancing around with a snake around her shoulders. With that visual in mind, I dove right in.

Turns out they were snake vampire stripper people.

My main issue with the show starting out was my that I wasn't really sure what was happening. There were multiple plot lines being told, each one explained a little bit in each subsequent episode until they all sort of tie together by the end of the season. I've seen the mechanic before in movie series like Saw where it was done pretty brilliantly. As for this series, I don't really know if it was. There were times where I found myself lost especially with regards to chronology and where the hell I was. And then there's some dude with a crotch gun that makes no mechanical sense. How do the bullets get into the barrel? The cylinders aren't line up right and.....never mind.

End of the day? I still enjoyed it even if it did get a little wonky here and there. If Season 2 was up on Netflix, more than likely I would be watching it right now. Probably in smaller chunks though in the interest of my health.
