DC Universe
Welcome to the digital DC Universe.
Marvel vs DC
Millions of fans around the world are still debating on the topic on whether Marvel or DC is better and here I am. Before we proceed any further here is something taken from Wikipedia, The Marvel Cinematic Universe is an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films, independently produced by Marvel Studios and based on characters that appear in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.

We are at a time when we are getting live-action comic book shows that tie into live-action comic book films. In 2013, the MCU got this treatment with the addition of Agents of SHIELD, and then later Agent Carter. Other shows said to be set within the MCU did not really do much to tie into the films, though that will change with Marvel Studios’ live-action shows that are coming to Disney+ during Phase Four. However, it is not just Marvel that is using this strategy.
Culture SlatePublished 4 years ago in GeeksMeasuring The Success Of The Dark Knight III
We have the unusual success stories of two controversial works from Frank Miller. The first is The Dark Knight Strikes Again, meanwhile the other being All-Star Batman & Robin The Boy Wonder. In general, many fans dislike so far as to disown both comic stories. Many prefer to live in a world with Batman: Year One, The Dark Knight Returns, and that is it when it comes to Batman stories from the unequivocal Frank Miller. The Dark Knight III: Master Race begins with much dissent with that subtitle - Master Race. Many like to label Frank Miller as some silly, right-wing lunatic. Couple this rather base-minded assumption and the sub-title, many fans and critics begin to ready their pitchforks. With the bad press of Frank Miller's previous work and some political comments years prior that rubbed many the wrong way, does The Dark Knight III: Master Race stand a chance of success?
DC Universe To Relaunch As Comics-Focused App Called DC Universe Infinite In January 2021
Friday, September 18, DC Comics announced that the DC Universe streaming service, which has provided digital comics and video content over the past 24 months, will become a comics-only service as the video content makes its way over to HBO Max. The service will be rebranded as DC Universe Infinite, which launches on January 21, 2021, with access to over 24,000 comics right away. Like Marvel Unlimited, it will have newer comics available six months after their initial publication. Furthermore, DC Universe Infinite will be available internationally in summer 2021. This is a good move given that the lack of international availability has been a huge criticism of the app.
Culture SlatePublished 4 years ago in GeeksWhat We Learned From The Animation Panels At DC FanDome: Explore The Multiverse
Last Saturday, September 12, saw the second part of DC Comics virtual convention DC FanDome, titled Explore the Multiverse. This had a heavy focus on DC television and also had a few panels about recent and upcoming animated films. Some of these panels were originally scheduled for DC FanDome on August 22, and it seemed that some panels would run concurrently with the panels about live-action films and video games. Thankfully, DC decided to push panels back to September 12 so that the experiences would be more manageable for the viewers. The video games and live-action films had their time to shine in the Hall of Heroes, and now fans could relax and what whatever panels they wanted in whatever order they preferred from 10 AM PST Saturday to about 12 PM PST Sunday. This particular article will have highlights from the animation-related panels that were present in the Watchverse section of the DC FanDome website.
Culture SlatePublished 4 years ago in Geeks5 Actresses Who Could Play Barbara Gordon in 'Titans'
Titans season three is set to debut a wealth of fan favorite characters, including Scarecrow, Red Hood, and Barbara Gordon. While Barbara Gordon has appeared as Oracle before on the short lived Birds of Prey series, she will be in a new capacity for this show, as she is going to serve as Gotham's newest police commissioner. Having already had a romantic relationship with Dick Grayson and some time on the police force, Gordon will likely be a seasoned veteran who has seen it all, so here are just a few options who could fit that mold.

The second part of DC Comics virtual convention DC FanDome was available online from Saturday, September 12 to Sunday, September 13. Titled Explore the Multiverse, it had a heavy focus on DC television and also had a few panels about recent and upcoming animated films. Some of these panels were originally scheduled for DC FanDome on August 22 but were pushed back, thus making things more manageable for fans. The panels for The Flash and Titans still dropped on August 22, though the extended versions of those panels were included this time around. (We know that Iris will escape the Mirrorverse in the former and that we will be seeing Jason Todd as Red Hood and Barbara Gordon as commissioner in the latter.) This particular article will focus on tidbits from live-action TV panels that were included in the Watchverse section of the DC FanDome website.

Saturday saw the second round of DC FanDome, titled Explore the Multiverse. It consisted of panels that were pre-recorded, and one of these panels was the Doom Patrol panel, which was originally slated for the August 22 DC FanDome date before much of the TV-focused panels were pushed back to September 12. Understandably, those on the panel were not able to talk about the news that did not get announced until right before DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse. Saturday morning, we learned via Deadline that Doom Patrol has been renewed for a third season at HBO Max.

ComicsGeekPublished 4 years ago in GeeksMovie Review: 'Birds of Prey' Gives Us the Harley Quinn We Always Wanted
Birds of Prey is as fun and exciting as Suicide Squad was bad and forgettable. The character of Harley Quinn as embodied by Margot Robbe, escaped the disaster that was Suicide Squad and has come out the other side a bigger and more bankable star than ever. Not many actors can say that starring in a bad movie worked out for the best but Robbe taking the character of Harley from Suicide Squad to Birds of Prey does just that, it worked out for one of the best D.C movies.
Sean PatrickPublished 4 years ago in GeeksMy Take on "The Batman" Trailer
WARNING: This is not a shot by shot breakdown. This is my feelings and opinions and impressions based on what I saw. Here we go again, a new reboot, a new actor and still no campy-ness. I will be the first person to admit I loved the old campy Batman films! Tim Burton started it all with 1984's Batman and whoo boy! After I had watched Batman: The Animated Series based on this campy telling of the Batman comic books I was in love. I loved the aesthetic the art deco style really captured my imagination and made is a bit spooky for me as a kid. I loved the music it could get me excited like the main theme, could make me scared. The music that plays over the scene of Joker's henchmen driving the trash barges in the episode The Last Laugh is a great example. I then watched the movies, and I loved them. Whether it was Michael Keaton, George Clooney or Val Kilmer, who played Batman I loved the comic book feeling of those films. I loved Batman up until the Nolan films. I could go on and on about the animated series and the pre-Nolan Batman films. That could be another article all on its own. This article is to talk about the trailer for the new film, The Batman.
Anastasia BarthPublished 4 years ago in GeeksThe Boys Season 2, Introducing a New Character the Right Way!
The Boys was a superhero show that hit last year unlike any other. It offered a true perspective of how Superheroes would operate in today's world. With massive PR firms behind the Supes, they effectively get away with absolutely horrendous acts as the PR guru's behind them make twists in the stories of their super antics. With some if not all the heroes, this even comes down to their origin stories, to enable fans the chance to believe even more in these super-beings.
