Marshmallows can rejoice, because our favorite sleuth may be coming back for a short TV stint, much like Gilmore Girls did on Netflix! Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas has been working hard on his current show iZombie, but he revealed he hasn't forgotten those of us who enjoyed watching the show that made him and lead Kristen Bell household names.

While fans of the show have gotten a few revivals in both a fan-funded film back in 2014, books that have since been released following the events of the film, and a mini-reunion following a Kickstarter campaign for Reading Rainbow.

There's no denying there is still a following for the cult show. In fact, the movie Kickstarter is still the most successful film campaign to date.

Thomas is fully aware that the embers are not yet dead among the fanbase, saying

“Kristen and I both want to figure out some way we could do a six-episode Veronica Mars mystery. If I were a betting man, I bet that it will happen. I just don’t know when it will be.”

The only thing that could be an issue is timing, with Rob already working on #iZombie and Kristen starring in her own TV show, #TheGoodPlace. With Rob also working on a remake of The Lost Boys for The CW, we may have to wait a little while. However, both would love to return to Neptune, California to do one more mystery together.

“We need to find a window where we could both do it. When actors are on network shows, most standard contracts will give them outs for, like, one episode a year of guest-starring. But then there are also sometimes outs if you’re doing something that is non-competitive. Would NBC consider a Veronica Mars thing on, like, Netflix non-competitive? We have not figured that out yet.
“Also, I’m developing 'Lost Boys'. If those things weren’t happening, we might be closer to a Veronica Mars [continuation]. 'The Good Place', I think, is going to be on NBC for a while. And if 'Lost Boys' goes, finding that window will be tricky. But we both want to do it.”

Hopefully the stars can align and bring the cast back together for a #VeronicaMars revival. Until then, there is always the original and film to rewatch.
