Ragman Returns: The 'Arrow' Season 5 Recruit Will Appear In Season 6, But Will He Stay?
Ragman left at the end of the season's twelfth episode, "Bratva," and did not return for the remainder of the season, although he promised that he would be back.
When Rory "Ragman" Regan was introduced in Arrow Season 5, his sole focus was revenge on those responsible for the death of his family at Havenrock. Wearing Devarim rags given to him by his father, Rory had superhuman strength and was protected from even Oliver Queen's arrows.
Ultimately convinced to unite with Team Arrow as one of the recruits, Rory was able to assist the team on several missions before a nuclear explosion stripped the rags of their mystical properties, leaving Ragman defenseless. Rory left at the end of the season's twelfth episode, "Bratva," and did not return for the remainder of the season, although he promised that he would be back.
Well, it appears he will be keeping that promise returning in Season 6, specifically Episode 5, according to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, who answered a fan's question on Twitter:
Whatever Rory was doing while he's been away from the team, there's no doubt the rags will be regenerated as Ragman is a part of DC history, first introduced in 1976. Without the rags, Rory's statement to Felicity "I am a liability" would be correct.
So is his return confirmation that the rags have been restored? Fans certainly hope so because they want Ragman around for longer than just one episode. One fan even suggested a solo Ragman spinoff:
Joe Dinicol, the actor who portrays Rory, was last seen on Saving Hope, which has since been canceled — so fans are hoping this will open up the possibility of a permanent return to Team Arrow.
