Anatomy of a Scene – ‘The NZT-48 Pill’
"Worth the risk?...What would you do?" How often have you thought about the possibility of taking one pill per each day that would maximize your brain’s full potential? With the movie ‘Limitless’ with Bradley Cooper and Robert DeNiro, this film poses the answer in the form of ‘NZT-48’, which can allow you to access everything you’ve read, heard, and learned without any true effort. Alexandria StanwyckPublished 6 months ago in GeeksWhy do Managers Exist?
Earlier this year, a paper published by the NBER gained national attention. In essence, it revealed that many companies were classifying their minimum wage workers as managers, despite lacking any managerial responsibilities. This classification allowed companies to avoid paying overtime. Notable companies like Panera, Verizon, JPMorgan, Publix, Walmart, Facebook, Staples, Lowe's, McDonald's, KFC, and Pizza Hut were all implicated in this practice at some point.

WARNING: SPOLIERS AHEAD! If it hasn't been made clear yet, two of some my favorite things to do is to watch a great show (or movie) and to read. Rarely do those two things coincide. I am of the crowd who believe that the book is almost always better than what ever the video equivalent will ever be. Now, yes, I have watched things that I unknowingly knew was based off a book, to which I don't read the book for fear of being disappointed. (There's quite a bit to unload there, but continuing.)

Marielle SabbagPublished 7 months ago in GeeksHeaven, Hell and the Multiverse
The mythology of heaven and hell has often been used in literature as a way to comment on ethics in general. Dante's Divine Comedy takes us on a journey through hell, purgatory and paradise, the most famous of these being his Inferno. Milton gave us Paradise Lost. The satirist Jonathan Swift described The Place of the Damned by its inhabitants including "Damned poets, damned critics, damned blockheads, damned knaves, damned senators bribed, damned prostitute slaves". The poet William Blake wrote The Marriage of Heaven and Hell in which he contrasts the free Dionysian spirit of hell with the authoritarian and carefully regulated, dare we say repressed, heaven.
