The Kids from 'The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl': Where Are They Now?

Robert Rodriguez movies are just wonderful. As a kid, I looked up to him as the savior of all children against the horrible clutches of boredom. Our little minds all go into overdrive whenever we see a Robert Rodriguez film. Anyone who saw his seminal kids classic Spy Kids probably watched The Adventures Of Sharkboy and Lavagirl as well.

Say what you will about The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, but it will remain one of our favorite sleep-over movies, and the one that will always make us hungry for milk and cookies. We all know who Sharkboy (Taylor Lautner) grew up to be — the wonderful wolf of Twilight, and the dishiest Doctor on Scream Queens. But what about the others? Without further ado, here are the kids from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl, and what they're up to now!

1. Max- Cayden Boyd

The dreamer of Planet Drool, Max was played by Cayden Boyd. Cayden landed several lucrative roles in his early career, playing a young Angel in X-Men: The Last Stand, and appearing in hit comedy Dodgeball.

Cayden has grown into quite the young heartthrob, and has also made several guest appearances, including a memorable turn in Awkward as Brian (Jenna's new boyfriend). According to his Twitter page, these days Boyd is a 'Actor. Entrepreneur. Adventure Seeker. Christ Follower.'.

Way to go, Max!

2. Linus/Minus - Jacob Davich

After his role as that bully in Sharkboy and Lavagirl, he played Nedderman's brother in Mr.Woodcock, a young Howard Hughes in The Aviator, and Jacob in The Viginity Hit.

Jacob's last acting credit is for a guest spot on Shameless — since then, he's been focusing on his singing career! Visit his website here.

3. Sharkboy - Taylor Lautner

The aforementioned wolfish heartthrob Taylor Lautner is widely known for his role as Jacob Black in Twilight — and he hasn't been out of the spotlight since!

After Sharkboy and Lavagirl, Lautner has had a pretty busy couple of years, starring in Tracers, The Ridiculous 6 and Cuckoo. You can currently find the smouldering lycanthrope breaking & mending hearts as Dr. Cassidy Cascade on Scream Queens. See him in action below!

Lavagirl herself, Taylor Dooley, left the acting world behind a few years ago — but announced her glorious comeback in 2015! As her bio states:

Aafter taking five years completely away from the acting business, I feel like now more than ever I know who I am and what I want. My passion for acting is like a fire burning inside of me, and I am ready to really get back out there again and start pursuing my career. I really feel like this is my time and I couldn't be more excited for the future.

And the future couldn't be more exciting for Taylor — she's already lined up roles in Devotion, The Portrait's Secret and the horror thriller Grimmerson Manor.

5. Marissa Electricidad/ Ice Princess - Sasha Pieterse

That's right — the Ice Princess is Alison Dilaurentis in Pretty Little Liars! Pieterse has appeared on the wildly popular show since its first season, and will remain until its last, as sadly, Pretty Little Liars will end in 2017.

Sasha Pieterse has also been building a low-key movie career, having recently appeared in Burning Bodhi and the critically acclaimed Inherent Vice. She also snagged a role in the upcoming Coin Heist; undoubtedly, Pretty Little Liars won't be the last we see of this talented actress!
