The Story of Us: Hiddleswift Is Over, so Let's Relive the Couple's Cutest Moments

After only three months, it seems the sparks that flew instantly between Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston's have faded as quickly as they ignited. Their relationship shocked the internet, was the subject of lampooning all summer, and was even called a 'publicity stunt'.

Sources close to the couple told Us Weekly that it was Swift who called it quits because she was 'uncomfortable' with PDA:

"Tom wanted the relationship to be more public than she was comfortable with. Taylor knew the backlash that comes with public displays of affection, but Tom didn't listen to her concerns when she brought them up."

Miscommunication definitely leads to fall out, and as her song says, 'I don't know what to say since the twist of fate when it all broke down' (though her hair change might be a hint of the things about to go down). Even if their love story seems a lot like a tragedy now, there were moments in their three-month romance that will still make the Hiddleswifters (Swiddlestoners?) blush:

1. The First Moments

When: May 1, 2016

While Tom and Taylor weren't photographed together leaving Anna Wintour's house, we know they interacted during Wintour's dinner. Back in these days, 'TayVin' (Taylor and ex-beau Calvin Harris) were still a thing.

When: May 2, 2016

At the Met Gala, we first got our glimpse of Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston's chemistry. The dance-off was an indication of sparks already flying instantly. The meeting and eventual coupling was even predicted by this Hiddleswift fan's fanfiction long before the ship sailed.

3. We Watched It Begin Again

When: June 14, 2016

An 'on-the-rocks' comment could be a mocking accompaniment for this photo these days, but this was the picture that sent the internet into a frenzy.

Just two weeks after Taylor Swift and DJ Calvin Harris's break-up, it appears that she has moved on swift-ly. And Loki wasn't loki-ng for love anymore, as he found it in Swift.

When: June 23-July 2016

Say what you will about Hiddleswift, but there's no denying that the locations in which the pair were papped are nothing short of romantic. Embarking on an 'international love tour' during the early stages of their relationship, the pair were photographed in picturesque locations in her Rhode Island home, England, Italy, Australia, New York, and L.A.

All these make the conspirators say that the trips are great music video material. Could we see a break-up video from Tay-Tay that's more stylish than 'Blank Space'?

5. A Love Story Getting Serious

When: June 21, 2016 (with her parents and friends in Nashville); June 25, 2016 (with his mother in England)

A sign that a relationship is 'getting there' is when you meet each other's parents! The pair met each other's parents; he met her squad, and they attended Selena Gomez's concert together. In July, he even told The Hollywood Reporter that his relationship with Swift is totally not a publicity stunt:

"Well, um. How best to put this? That notion is — look, the truth is that Taylor Swift and I are together and we're very happy. Thanks for asking. That's the truth. It's not a publicity stunt."

Even their friends gave their stamp of approval, and that is something!

6. Insta-Official

When: July 4

A public confirmation of romance is only truly official when a super cute and sweet photo is uploaded on Instagram, duh. Taylor's friends uploaded adorable photos of Hiddleswift from Taylor's annual star-studded Fourth of July party.

Tom already hanging out and having fun with her pals seemed like a sign that things would go smoothly.

7. 'I Love T.S.'

When: July 4

For the Fourth of July weekend, Hiddleston was photographed wearing an 'I Love T.S.' shirt (making us wonder if he lost a bet). Of course, 'T.S.' are his (ex-)girlfriend's initials, but it could also stand for Tom Sawyer, Taco Shells, and TONY STARK, to name a few.

It was good while it lasted; Tom and Taylor were so cute together, now he'll be another name in a blank space. It would be harsh to say that the sparks caused them to go down in flames; their line of work and the backlash that came with being a super popular couple must be partly to blame for their break-up.

Soon enough though, I think they can both just shake it off, laugh out loud at this crazy media-frenzied memory, and have relationships which actually work. After all, this isn't a small town - it's Hollywood.
