Bayonetta 3 - Into the Multiverse of Madness
Bayonetta 3 is a game that came out, and I have some various thoughts so here we go: This entry in the 'Netta-Verse ends up being a story about the multiverse, which I was not super into at first. This was sort of an unfortunate year to do a multiverse story when there were already several; Multiverse of Madness, No Way Home came out recently, Night of the Coconut if you have Nebula, another season of Rick and Morty, not to mention one of the best multiverse stories ever with Everything Everywhere All at Once. But then I met Spider-Bayonetta. Who is not actually called that, but still. She has yo-yos with blades on them, instead of guns, and the ones on her heels act as roller skates. Oh, and also she can turn into a spider. There’s even a level where you are swinging through the city, and while it’s no Spider-Man 2, it is not the worst web swinging I’ve seen, and it is incredibly fun. The multiverse ends up being an excuse to have a wide variety of weapons and abilities you get to use which is very fun. However, there are some aspects that detract from the experience. Pretty much all of the alternate Bayonetta’s die, killed pretty easily. But our main player Bayonetta faces crazy shit constantly, even getting stabbed through the chest at one point, yet she’s fine. Really bad case of main-character-shield. I think it’s supposed to raise the stakes. If one Bayonetta can die, how is ours going to be able to defeat the bad guy? But it ends up having the opposite effect, the other Bayos just look lame in comparison. The game also starts to feel a little bit repetitive. Even though there's a variety of locations, weapons and crazy demons to interact with, the game has a lot of: meet alternate Bayonetta, watch her die, take her cool shit, rinse, repeat.

Legend of Zelda: Tiny Hat - Overlooked or Underwhelming?
The Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap for the Game Boy Advance is one of the only mainline Zelda games I have not played yet. (the others being Zelda II, the Oracle games, and the DS duology) I’d been meaning to get to Minish Cap for a while, and finally found a copy under $100, so I guess now is the time.

Is 'Weird: The Al Yankovic' Story the story that Weird Al Yankovic deserves?
WEIRD: A Weird Al Story is pretty fun if you are a fan of Weird Al. It rides the line between being a parody of biopic movies, while also incorporating elements of Al’s real life. I think it sometimes struggles to balance the tone, and I think it could’ve benefited from being a little bit more weird. I think in parodying the biopic format, you kind of end up just making another generic biopic with different words. It only has a handful of Al’s songs, which are all tied to the plot in certain ways. It works, but I also would’ve liked to see a few more of his songs. But I also realized it was probably a challenge to get the rights to use many of his songs. Yes they are parodies, so there might be some wiggle-room. But also, Al always gets permission to parody other people’s songs, and there are also real people portrayed in the movie like Madona, so I imagine there might have been a lot of legal obstacles to work around. The movie is also super low budget, which occasionally shows.

The West Edmonton Mall - Is it just for kids, or can broke adults enjoy it too?
So the last few weeks I have been driving across the country (Canada) from Ontario to Vancouver BC. This is actually part 2 of a vacation which I had done the first part of back in June/July, that being driving across the other side of the country, Ontario to Newfoundland. Why am I just starting a blog now? I don't know. I am bad at planning things. But, I like writing, and need a way to vent certain feelings so let's get into it.

Top Gun: Maverick and Star Wars
Never in my life have I been taken out of a movie more than with the Princess Leia space scene from The Last Jedi. I was fully aware of the feeling of movie theatre seat against my body. And because I couldn’t be further from invested in the actual movie, more and more tiny details started to bother me. This escalated until literally every tiny thing that happened in this movie just felt like the worst thing ever. And don’t worry, I’m not going to just list things I don’t like about The Last Jedi. But I do wanna talk about this specific shot.

The Gray Man and Brad Pitt Train Fight
I’m pretty sure I saw the trailer to Brad Pitt Train Fight aka Bullet Train every single time that I’ve been to the movies this year. And when I finally saw it last week I got there early and the pre-show had no less than 3 previews for Bullet Train, the movie I was about to watch, including the full trailer once again. So I don’t think I was into the movie as much as I wanted to be because I felt like the trailer, like most trailers, showed a bit too much. Which is why I usually don’t watch trailers, but this one was just unavoidable. I had fun, but I think I actually enjoyed the movie more on my second watch, that could also be because I had seen Netflix's The Gray Man in between.

Clone Wars Adventures Vol. 1 Review
Are you like me where you wish there was more Genndy Clone Wars and want to do something else with your time other than rewatch the Genndy series over and over again? Then do I have the spinoff for you. Introducing Star Wars: Clone Wars Adventures. A series of spinoff comics telling more Clone Wars stories in the Genndy style that you know and love if you were an early 2000s kid. Released by Dark Horse Comics around the same time as the show, this anthology series was printed primarily in Archie Digest format, though I do have a single preview issue, that I'm not entirely sure where I got it from.

The 80's are Back! ...again!
Hoh boy! Hold onto your roller skates folks, and grab a box of Eggos, 'cause Stranger Danger is back for season 4! So we got a whole lot of Stranger Things going on here. Firstly, there's a lotta characters. Ensemble cast plus all the new additions from the last couple seasons that I mostly remember, because they gotta stick around. And we got a whole gaggle of new characters. Maybe that's why they call it Stranger Things, because everyone feels like a stranger to me. Hopper is alive of course, because Thinger Strangs can't keep a character dead longer than one episode. On top of that, these episodes are long as fuck. The first one is 1 hour and 18 minutes. Thats a whole lotta strangers. We also got a whole bunch of plot lines and ideas.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Weird Cameos
SPOILERS for Doctor Strange 2: Into the Strangerverse Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is out and it’s not bad. I’m not really a huge Strange fan so I don’t really care if they ruin his character or anything. Not that they did, I just don’t really care either way. Wanda actually got to be the villain this time which I really liked. She’s legitimately threatening and has clear and compelling motivations. I also liked that Sam Raimi got to infuse some of his horror filmmaking into the movie. There is some Evil Dead-ass looking shots in this movie, it has way more style to it than your average Marvel flick. Bruce Campbell even got a cameo, and he is delightful as always. It’s kinda cool to have Danny Elfman back doing the music, except that Doctor Strange actually has a pretty consistent theme by Michael Giacchino, (unlike most MCU characters) and it’s barely in this movie, despite it being all over the Giacchino scored Spider-Man: No Way Home. There's a music fight, that should be awesome, but I feel like the music weirdly didn't really sync up with the action. We did however get a little glimpse of the 90’s X-Men animated series theme, which I appreciated because if you’re gonna do dumb pointless fan service, you might as well go all the way.

Zendaya is a better Spider-Man than Tom Holland
So the other day my so called "friend" made me watch The Greatest Showman, fully knowing that I hate musicals. And I thought it was fine. Not the worst musical I've ever seen. They actually manage to tell the story through the songs for a good chunk of them, even if it's mostly through montage. It's basically X-Men Origins: Wolverine but if William Striker was the protagonist. But that's not really the point.

The Bionicle Lore is NUTS
Let me take you back to the distant future, the year 2000. The LEGO company is losing money because they lost the Star Wars license, and they come up with an idea for an action figure line. Enter BONCLE, the Biological-Chronicle. So what they’re some kinda robot super heroes? Like a Transformer? No! They went so hard on the lore for this shit, way harder than they had to, and it is nuts. They’re robots, sure, but they have elemental powers. It's a mixture of magic and science which shouldn't work, but it does. The whole concept was based on this dude’s cancer treatment. He imagined that his pills contained a tiny warrior inside to fight the cancer, which is why the Toa, the heroes, arrive in capsules.
