AGENTS OF CHAOS
I have this ritual where I watch movies multiple times. I am a movie buff. Therefore, once a year, I watch the Godfather part 1,2 and 3. I always discover something subtle that I previously missed. There is also another movie I watch religiously, more than once a year: The Dark Knight. The 2008 masterpiece by Christopher Nolan where Batman faces his archnemesis, the Joker played by the unique, once-in-a-generation talented actor, the tremendous Heath Ledger.

FORGIVE? ALWAYS! STAY FRIENDS? NOT NECESSARILY.
There is a misunderstanding that comes along with forgiving. It is a topic of contention with people, and it makes sense. Forgiving is a complicated and complex subject and quite personal and hugely subjective. It is somewhat tailored to each person’s sensibilities, personality, and nature.

FRIENDSHIP
Friendship is a choice. I am not talking about being friends with someone because you are looking to get something out of them, whether it is a financial gain or any other kind of favour. I am talking about genuine friendship, the kind that requires nothing, the pure kind.

NO ONE CAN MAKE YOU HAPPY
It is true. Well, I believe it to be true. Frankly, I wasn’t going to write about this subject, but I threw caution to the wind and decided to give it a shot. This whole thing came out of an argument I was having with a girl friend of mine. The conversation got heated at some point, but we managed to keep everything above board. We stayed civil as we always do. I guess whenever people talk about a subjective theme like happiness, passions come out and it shows how differently we feel about happiness.

YEAH, THEY KNOW!
There are these two couples I know. Both couples have been together for a few years and both have a peculiar dynamic: in each couple, one of the partners is clearly and by all accounts, not a good person. In the first couple, the man is obnoxious, rude, verbally abusive, and quite unpleasant. Moreover, he acts the same with every person he meets; his behaviour isn’t only directed at his wife. In the second couple, the woman is profoundly mean, rude, quick to anger and a bully. Just like the man in the first couple, she is that way with everybody, not only her husband and kids. I guess they both get points for not being hypocrites; they get points for being assholes.

CHADWICK BOSEMAN, THE SILENT HERO
I never met Chadwick Boseman, that is obvious. Yet, like millions of people who enjoyed seeing him in the various projects he was in, I felt a kinship with him. I guess that’s what happens with celebrities; the more we see them, the more we feel connected with them.

THIS SOCIAL MEDIA THING, I SWEAR...
In this pandemic/confinement climate we live in, we all use social media to communicate with others, to entertain ourselves, to learn, to fight boredom, to share our ideas, to be relevant, to create controversy, to feel alive, to matter, and to some extent, for some, to exist. Well, we don’t use social media for the same purposes but those are usually the main reasons one goes on those platforms. This confinement has made us, all of us, consume content online more than ever. That’s a fact, not an opinion.
