Who Is Captain Marvel Anyway?
Likely you saw the promotional stills released by Entertainment Weekly for Captain Marvel, the next hero being added to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But what you may be asking yourself is "who is Captain Marvel?" or "wasn't Captain Marvel a guy?", possibly "I thought they were a DC character anyway" and perhaps even "what if I never find true love?" because I don't know, there's probably more going on in your life than just questions about a comic book movie.

5 Iconic Elements Comics Borrowed from Their Own Adaptations
The success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been bleeding back into the original comics universe for years now, with mixed results. The Guardians of the Galaxy got quick and dirty redesigns to match their first movie as soon as it came out and the less said about the convoluted hoops Marvel jumped through to have a Samuel L Jackson-esque black Nick Fury in their main comics universe the better (especially given they had such a character, the one the movies copied even, in their dying Ultimate Universe, just waiting for a lifeboat over).

Five Avengers Not Destined for Movie Greatness
The Avengers is now a media titan, a billion dollar conglomerate of movie franchises built on the backs of characters that a mere 10 years ago largely weren't considered viable as movies. Perennial second-stringer Black Panther starred in one of the highest grossing movies of all time, yet not long ago people were dubious of even Thor and Captain America working as movies.
