Just as schools and universities get back into session in September, DC Comics will continue to bring their blockbuster stories to life, which will even satisfy the grumpiest professor. Before you start thinking of pop quizzes, bad dorm food, and term papers, GEEKS offers our readers a taste of what is next for your favorite superheroes, villains, and their ever growing universe.

Evil Batmen invade the DCU

Just as Dark Nights: Metals continues to shift into a higher gear, several bad versions of the Caped Crusader have invaded the DCU! On September 20, the creative team of writer Joshua Williamson and Carmine Di Giandomenico will introduce fans to the villainous Red Death. Meanwhile, Frank Tieri and Ricardo Federici plan to unleash The Murder Machine onto the DCU on September 27. Fan-favorite artist Jason Fabok will provide the covers for these one-shot specials.

'Dark Night: Metals' hits Gotham City

The effects of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo’s massive summer series is expected to hit Gotham City! Nightwing must survive an icy encounter with Mr. Freeze and his frost giants from the Dark Multiverse on September 20’s Nightwing #29. Meanwhile, Damian puts together an incredible team of heroes and villains alike on September 13’s Teen Titans #12. Finally, Harley Quinn and Killer Croc must lead the Suicide Squad against the Dark Multiverse’ twisted versions of their fellow Gotham City Rogues in the pages of Suicide Squad #26.

Dick Grayson takes center stage

September is expected to be a HUGE month for Dick Grayson! The creative team of Tim Seeley and Javier Fernandez will showcase the final confrontation between the former Agent of Spyral and Mr. Minos in September 6’s Nightwing #28. Over in the pages of Batgirl, writer Hope Larson and artist Chris Wildgoose will finally answer the question if Batgirl still has feelings for Nightwing in the series’ fifteenth issue, which is expected to drop on September 27. Lastly, is the first Robin a traitor? The Titans creative team of Dan Abnett, Brett Booth, and Norm Rapmund is expected to reveal on September 13 that Nightwing is an Agent of H.I.V.E.! How will the team react? Or will the real traitor show themselves to the team?

Mayor Harley Quinn

New York City has a new candidate for Mayor, and it is… Harley Quinn? As her relationship with the Big Apple’s seedy leader continues to evaporate, the Maid of Mischief will throw her hat in the ring to become the next Mayor of New York City. Campaign managers Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner along with artist-in-chief John Timms will reveal Harley’s platform in both parts one and two of “Vote Harley” on September 6 and September 20.

Superman experiences "The Oz Effect"

Just as the Man of Steel is recovering from his showdown with the Superman Revenge Squad, the mysterious Mr. Oz will finally reveal himself to Superman! The mysterious figure who has been in the spotlight since last year’s DC Universe: Rebirth is expected to make Krypton’s Last Son a living hell when he unleashes his master plan in the pages of Action Comics. Writer Dan Jurgens and artists Viktor Bogdanovic (#987) and Patch Zircher (#988) will join cover artists Nick Bradshaw and Mikel Janin for this story arc that will drop on September 13 and September 27.

Who is "Wonder Woman's" brother?

One of the biggest questions that came out of "Justice League: The Darkseid War" was the identity of Wonder Woman’s brother. In Wonder Woman #31, the new creative team of legendary writer James Robinson, artist Carlo Pagulayan, and cover artist Bryan Hitch will tell the story of Jason, Diana’s brother who was kidnapped from Themyscira long ago. Who kidnapped Wonder Woman’s brother? Also, what does Darkseid’s daughter, Grail, have in mind for the siblings? Find out when part one of “Children of the Gods” drops on September 27!

Wonder Woman Meets Conan!

DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics will present an epic crossover of massive proportions when Gail Simone, Aaron Lopresti, and Matt Ryan present part one of when Wonder Woman meets Conan the Barbarian! Will they be allies? Or adversaries? Find out on September 20!
