Oh Snap!: 9 More Disney Shows That Need A Reboot Like 'That's So Raven'

That's So Raven was a TV show that ran on the Disney Channel from 2003-2007. While it already had a spin-off TV show for her brother and father called Corey in the House, which followed Corey's hijinks in the White House, it never had the popularity that its predecessor, starring Raven-Symone, did, lasting only one season.

Now, however, Raven is leaving The View to make her return to the Disney Channel as the psychic that was always making mistakes, "trying to save the situation/ then she ends up misbehaving." While little is known about the plot so far, it is said that Raven's character on the as-yet-unnamed show will be a single mother of two pre-teens, only one of which has inherited their mother's special abilities. Hopefully they can do the stare just as well.

With the return of such an amazing show, it does make me wonder what other shows they could return to which were popular when I was younger. With Disney making more spin-offs these days like Bunk'd, a spin-off of Jessie, and Girl Meets World, a spin-off of Boy Meets World, it seems like they're going deep and mining their classic vault for ideas. Here are just a few of the popular shows that could make their way back into our lineup to be reintroduced to the next generation.

1. Lizzie McGuire (2001-2004)

With what seemed a perfect ending with Gordo getting the girl, as well as a fun movie that was released in theaters, Lizzie McGuire did wrap up the show quite nicely. However, it could be fun to visit these folks again, in one of the only shows that really showed day-to-day life, without too many crazy scenarios (their trip to Rome and Lizzie becoming a popstar, plus celeb guest stars aside). Though former Disney Channel star Hilary Duff is starring on Younger now, I think even just a little reunion wouldn't be totally out of the question. Let's just hope that Aaron Carter doesn't show up again.

2. Bug Juice (1998-2002)

This could be done in a few different ways. It could be interesting to have just a reunion of the old campers and see how they are and what they have been up to, or have another summer camp and show some new kids. Though with technology and Facebook, do kids still go to summer camp like this anymore?

3. Sonny With A Chance (2009-2011)

While this show already had a spin-off of the show within a show So Random!, it would be nice to be able to bring this group back together after so long. Now that Demi Lovato has gotten her life together, it would be fun reboot the show that helped launch her career, especially since Sonny's exit was never addressed. Or even just a little spin-off for Mackenzie Falls, Chad Dylan Cooper's show. So over-dramatic, but I loved the behind-the-scenes of it.

4. Wizards Of Waverly Place (2007-2012)

This show has already been through the ringer, coming back after their success of the Wizards of Waverly Place The Movie and near cancellation, with another made for TV movie Alex Vs Alex. While it seems as though the show has run its course, it could be interesting to have a reboot focused on Justin and his mentoring the students of Wiztech, the wizarding school similar to Hogwarts. It could bring in fresh faces, with guest appearances from the characters we know and love like Alex and Max.

5. Kim Possible (2002-2007)

This show was incredible, and turned the tables on women being the damsel-in-distress, making the girl the hero and her sidekick, Ron, a male who needed saving quite a bit. Even Shego seemed to be a little more in charge of things than Dr. Drakken. In a day and age where women seem to be constantly put down in subtle ways, young girls could do with a female hero that is not only the title character, but someone whom we can all look up to and aspire to be. She is the girl "who can do anything" and that is something that is truly impressive. Have her kicking butt as a grown woman, or her own daughter finding out the antics that her mom got up to and deciding to follow in her footsteps. Either way, it would be fun to watch.

6. The Proud Family (2001-2005)

This show was always a lot of fun, and I loved the character of Suga Momma, who was always up to some sort of hijinks. These characters were all memorable, with the over-protective dad and daughter Penny just wanting to be a normal teenage girl, and the mom being the buffer and referee between the two. And let's not forget the twins who were always getting into some trouble. The art style was unique, as well, with odd angles and flat surfaces behind the characters. It was a fun show, and one that would be great to revisit, especially with the resurgence of animation on TV.

7. Even Stevens (1999-2003)

This show was one of those zany and out-of-the-box kind of shows, with crazy things happening every week (usually thanks to Louis Stevens). It launched Shia LaBeouf's career, and would be amazing to see him return to wreak havoc on his sister Ren again. Perhaps have Ren be a professor who needs to come home and help her brother out. Donnie could be a big sports star, and Beans, of course, will always be by Louis' side. It would be great to see the group back together, especially if Twitty made and an appearance again.

8. Recess (1997-2001)

This show had a character for everyone, and I think that is important. There was the cool kid, the new kid, the scientific kid, the tomboy, the sports guy and... the one that likes to eat a lot, though he was also a great singer. Though this show was on ABC, that's a Disney-owned company so it wouldn't be out of the question to have them create a spin-off for it like they did for Boy Meets World. They could have each of the characters back as adults or different teachers, and have new kids on the playground going through some crazy adventures. It could be a great return to a classic, and a time that was simpler for us adults both in cartoons and life.

9. Gargoyles (1994-1996)

One of those cartoons that took its audience very seriously and didn't talk down to kids, Gargoyles is rich in mythology and magic that it created for itself. With memorable characters and heartbreaking storylines, this was a show that pushed the limit for kids programs with a great cast on top of it. Heck, let's not just reboot it, just show it again for new people to experience it! It is definitely a show that is a must watch, with comedic characters as well as characters that are more than just one dimensional. They may be made of stone for the day, but at night they will pull at your heartstrings.
