‘Dragon Ball Super’: The Hidden Origin of Moro (Pt. 1)

I’ve discovered the hidden origin of Moro. In this three-part series, I will cover the real-life inspiration for Moro, and give you an idea of who he really is. In this post, I will reveal Moro's hidden agenda, his power, and his full origin story.

Welcome, Dragon Ball fans!

I hope you all had a great week! ^_^

The biggest mystery of Dragon Ball Super revolves around the hidden origins of “Planet-Eater” Moro. He is the new villain of the “Galactic Patrol Prisoner” saga in Dragon Ball Super manga.

If we zoom in to Moro’s waist, you will notice that he wears a belt with a very particular symbol that resembles a key.

You will also notice Moro has a unique character design that closely resembles a goat.

Now this begs to question.

What is the history of Moro?

How powerful is Moro?

The key to answering this question is to decode the symbol on Moro’s belt and understand what inspired the writers to create this character.

Today, I will provide some real-life facts and evidence to answer all of these questions about the hidden origins of Moro.

So without further ado, let’s jump right in!

Facts

Moro is a planet-eater.

He comes from Universe 7.

Moro is a powerful wizard and is over 10 million years old. Also, he is powerful enough to destroy the “Iraqi Star” system and has ate over 320 planets.

Those are the facts about Moro.

Now let’s get into my theory!

Moro's Character Design

The first aspect of understanding Moro is to analyze his character design. Moro’s character design is clearly modeled after “Argali,” which is referred to as a “wild mountain sheep” that roam through the highlands of Central Asia.

They are the largest species in the world. You can see one in person at a National Museum of both nature and science in Tokyo, Japan.

Moro is also depicted as being completely shirtless, which is covered by his oversized beard.

Baphomet

It is no coincidence that Moro's character design details are very identical to the pictures of an important character in history, known as “Baphomet.

Now pay very close attention because in the next part, I will expose the origins of Moro.

History of Baphomet

On October 13, 1307, at the height of their power, the knights templar were arrested in France and accused of worshipping a deity, known as Baphomet. In case you haven’t realized it, Baphomet is a substitute for the “Devil.” In the magical realm, Baphomet is a goat with male and female attributes, which is intended to represent the “Totality of Creation.”

However, later in 1854, a French magician named Levi, not Levi from Attack on Titan (laughs), reimagined the current version of Baphomet in his book, which entitles “Transcendental Magic: It’s Doctrine & Ritual.”

Now the most unique and iconic element of Levi’s Baphomet is the head of a goat in a human body. Just like you see depicted with Moro in Dragon Ball Super.

Moro's Bandages

Other major aspects of Moro’s character design are the white bandages around his wrist and ankles. Many people assumed that these bandages are part of Moro’s fashions.

Even though people suggested that those bandages resembles a God of Destruction type of fashion, I have to respectfully disagree. The wristbands worn by the gods of destruction are there for cosmetic purposes.

Now, Moro doesn’t wear wristbands.

He wears bandages.

In my opinion, these bandages are not there for cosmetic purposes, but to "hide something.” Perhaps, Moro is hiding some of his wounds. Maybe, he is hiding something important.

If this happened to be revealed, it could expose the source of Moro’s power.

So what exactly is hiding under those white bandages?

Moro's Magic Revealed

To find the answer, we need to look at the deity that inspired Moro in the first place. The deity Baphomet is depicted with latin words on his wrist and arms. These Latin words are both “Solve” and “Coagula,” which means to “join together and take apart” the powers of binding and loosing from God by force.

In Levi’s context, these terms represent the dualistic powers of magic, which can be realized by any devoted being, such as Moro. This further explains why Moro was able to absorb the life energy from nearby planets and how he was able to condense the energy into a ball.

Then eat it.

Hence, this caused his strength to grow exponentially. The powers of both Solve and Coagula also explained how Moro was able to defy the deities of Universe 7. He was so powerful, it forced a Supreme Kai to sacrifice most of his godly powers to seal away Moro’s magical powers.

Even after that scenario happened, nobody was strong enough to kill Moro for 10 million years.

Satan's Logo

Here is something to note.

The Siegle of Baphomet has been adopted as the modern church of Satan’s logo, which is currently associated with witchcraft and devil worship.

In my opinion, based on the real-life inspirations that led to the creation of Moro, I can conclude that Moro is the representation of both evil and the devil.

I predict that we will see Moro using witchcraft and other dark magic in Dragon Ball Super.

What is next?

So now that we know the history and origins behind Moro’s character design, we are ready to recode the hidden message behind Moro’s symbol on his belt. There will be two more parts about the hidden origins of Moro.

In part two, I will expose the hidden truth behind Moro’s belt and his ultimate plan.

What is Moro’s hidden agenda?

I will also expose how powerful Moro truly is.This concludes part one of “The Hidden Origin of Moro.”

Stay tuned for part two!
