Wow! What a great episode of Survivor tonight!

So, first off, good move getting Wendy out. Easy, simple. Then, the beginning of this episode. The tribes merged into one. Then, the survivors from the Edge of Extinction arrived, shocking everyone. The pre-merge boots all competed for a chance to get back in the game. Chris & Keith even earned advantages. Unfortunately for Chris, Keith used his advantage of giving an disadvantage against him. So, Chris had an advantage and a disadvantage. And while it seemed like a close fight for the six, it went down to Wendy, Rick & Chris with the other three fighting but failing. And while Wendy & Chris were close, they failed and Rick Devens re-entered the game and joined the merge tribe.

Then, while the merged tribe went to camp, Jeff questioned each of the five that lost the Extinction challenge, which made them think that they were gone for good. But they were then told that they had a chance to re-enter the game. So, they happily returned to the Edge of Extinction. At the merge feast, Rick was thrilled to be back and immediately bonded with Julia, who wanted to work with him since he referred to himself to her as a free agent.

Meanwhile, Wentworth was fearful of Rick, knowing that he'd get with Kama easily. At the Edge of Extinction, Keith & Wendy decided that they had enough, so they left on the boat, ending their game. Back at the new tribe, Vata, Kelley decided to lobby with Joe, another returnee, to see if she could get him on her side and it seemed that he was open to it. After that, the women, led by Wentworth & Lauren and their idols, got together and considered taking out Rick. But Julie still wasn't having it, considering taking out Rick, splitting the votes between him and David. But Julia still wasn't happy about the idea and she really considered taking out Wentworth or Lauren. Later on, Rick found an idol in his bag for winning himself back in the game. However, the twist was that he'd have to give half of it to someone before it gains its power after the next tribal council, so of course, he gave it to his #1 ally, David.

At the first Individual Immunity Challenge, Vata stood on a balance beam holding a large pole with an idol at the end of it. The last person standing would win. Then, after a long, hard-fought, windy battle, Julie and her "guns" took the win. Afterward, Kelley assumed it was still Rick. But Julia's plan then started to go into fruition. Wentworth was starting to become the target. She even told Rick that he wasn't in trouble, but that he was the Lesu target and he and David should go with them. He wasn't told the vote though. Then, Ron tried to convince his alliance, the Kama 6, that Joe should go since he's such a big threat. So, the vote could go: easy vote, Rick; or one of the two third time returnees, Joe or Wentworth. Physical threat vs strategic threat, it definitely will be an interesting vote. At Tribal Council, there was talk about how comfortable Kama seemed, idols and how threats. Then, it seemed at first that it was a split vote between Rick and David—in a big surprise, Joe was blindsided. And of course, he went immediately, choosing to go to the Edge of Extinction. Overall, a great merge episode of Survivor and I can't wait to see what happens in next week's episode when who knows what could happen in terms of alliances and someone passes out in the challenge?.
